Morning All

Off to get the sticky................

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 26th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Many Thanks for all the good luck wishes yesterday :) interview went well I think but they are seeing loads of people so have fingers crossed. Won't find out for a couple of weeks.

Today I am working with a company I help out occasionally, in fact working for the next 3 days. Am on my feet all day and its tiring but really interesting work.

So doing essential stuff in the office now, quick tidy up then will be off out. Think will check the weather forcast and see if can get some washing on before I head out.

Dinner tonight will be nice and easy spag bol.

Sorry if I have missed any news as didn't catch up with the thread yesterday so (((hugs))) if you need one.x

Morning Essex-girl and all who follow,

Just caught up with yesterdays thread, congratulations on the new job Camelot.

MILs surgery went well and she is now recovering in hospital, it is a great relief and now we can concentrate on getting ready for the sea side trip.
We have all been worried about her for so long, hopefully her movement will get a lot better now.

WM is on and I am about to make all the packed lunches.

Tea tonight is stir fry and I will make some fairy cakes.

Glad the interview went well Essex-girl.

    Have a good day everyone.:)

    Hugs to those in need.
Showery here today, hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, fish fed etc.
Off to work in a mo, got 2 rollockings yesterday from our beloved bursar & no doubt another one today, my own fault, I sent a polite reply to the rollocking on Monday, but after the first one yesterday I emailed her in great detail, telling her where she was wrong & suggesting she check her facts next time before making wild accusations! So she retaliated by repeating Monday's rollocking & claiming I hadn't 'bothered' to reply, fortunately I had cc'd the reply to 2 other people so I had witnesses. No doubt she'll have another go today or tomorrow, deep joy.
Pasta with chicken, bacon & mushroom sauce for tea tonight.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Bargainbird - LOVE your smilies. Silver - hugs to you. My MIL died last night - she'd been very very ill and we'd all been praying she'd go sooner, but people go when they're ready. I told the boys this morning and they immediately wanted to play on the wii! But I think OH is very upset (understandably). He is working away, but said he wants to come home, so expect to see him today. It does mean that we will be adding two members to our family - Zorro (aptly named!) and Rory - our two cats that she adopted about 12 years ago. We'll get them at the weekend - cue lots of scratched furniture I imagine.

No OS here today as DS1s birthday treat - him and 5 friends for Pizza and icecream! Oh well. Hugs to those in need and high fives to those celebrating. x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
