If you arent in too much of a rush, I'll re-plan it for you?If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

How long is the wall on the left hand side of the door as you walk into the kitchen?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I'd REALLY appreciate that, thanks. I certainly won't be ordering the kitchen now until we've got it planned out properly. I completely agree with the comments on here about the current design and I know it needs some changes. How long is the wall on the left hand side of the door as you walk into the kitchen?
I don't have the plans on me but I think it's just over 2m. You've brought up some really good points, thanks for the help.0 -
Can you replace the window so that you can put the sink under them as that is wasted space.0

Do the glass wall units have to be 500mm? Or would 300mm be ok? Infact, why do you want glass at all?If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

The window isn't as deep as it is in the plans. I think it's only an inch or so below the worktop level. Unfortunately I can't replace it because it's brand new. I'm kicking myself for not making the window smaller and allowing the sink to be under it like you've suggested. Too late now though.0 -
300mm would be fine. We don't need glass but thought it would look good. We're open to losing them though if you think that's a good idea.
Well, I think the problem with glass units is you have to keep them tidy and can't fill them as much. They are nice if you have a big kitchen, but in a smaller one, they are a bit of a waste! If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I think the sink is going to be a problem, having a cupboard above the sink is going to be clostaphobic.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. That just looks wrong on many levels, it is a shame that you cannot have the sink on the opposite side of the room.
You could possibly move the hob/oven to the other side as that would give you a better "working triangle" and have the larders on the same side as the sink, but you dont have much space next to the window.
I also agree that the 20cm pull outs and the glass wall units are luxury items in a small kitchen where maximizing storage should be a priority.
I also do this for a living and it is harder than you think! It is almost always the smaller kitchens that are tougher to plan.0
