Ex Motability Car

Hi all,
I understand that when you get high rate Dla you can have a Motability car and get it changed every so many years, 3 maybe?
So, what i would like to ask is, the cars that you give back, they are then sold on, as in a used car, but do you still have to be on high rate Dla to buy one?
Many Thanks

nothing to stop you buying any car any time,i suspect that most ex motability cars go to auction when the 3 years are up0

Yes they do go to auction, Most of the big motor auctions have ex-Motability sales once a month or so.0

Thanks
My friend is on High rate Dla but didnt want to get a car using her dla payments and wanted to buy, maybe, a push and pull.
She is under the illusion that she wouldnt be able to buy a used motability car unless she was still on high rate at the time, hers runs out next july so she was thinking she had to wait till then to see if it gets renewed?0 -
Thanks Zaksmum0

recently bought a ex motability ford c max from a company called bristolstreet motors, they had several that were from the same source.0

google it, I just did and all the auctions come up.
Ex motability cars can be a good buy but they come in two distinct groups Ive been told, the ones that have been run into the ground by people who just abuse them because they are not theirs and very low milage, imaculately kept cars that have been extremly well looked after by someone who couldnt use them much because they were to ill but garages do cherry pick the best of these.
And you need to look out for damage casued by mobility aids.
I cant remember the rest of it.0 -
Thanks Bobbyblade
Thanks SunnyoneShe wont want one thats been ragged around and has very high mileage, she wants something half decent.

If she doesn't want to use the Motability scheme, what does she see as the advantage of buying an ex Motability car over any other second hand motor?0
