Sign up in our local saying sorry, mistake in leaflet. Actual price is £6.99 BOGOF - still overpriced as it's only £2.99 in Iceland at the moment!!!

Whats the betting that it will be £2.99 in Tesco once their current BOGOF offer ends? Thats what I think went wrong on the leaflet printing, they got the offers muddled up.

Hi, unfortunately i don't have a scanner. I don't know if there's another way I can do it. I've just noticed in the small print at the bottom it states 'john west tuna 4x185g (40.4p/100g) '. This equates to the £2.99 price stated. I'd like to know what the official stance from Tesco's is on the issue, as obviously some are honouring and others aren't.

They make plenty of money and to honour glitches like this is hardly going to cost them the earth.
It only takes a second to say thanks!

I bought 4 tins from Tesco Hanley, the new big one.
I'm going back down there today to complain nicely.
I've never had a DTD before so wish me luck :)
    I was charged £6.99.

So do you think it's worth me going there?

2 for £5 in Morrisons at the moment - although I think its princess not John West. Strange really because sel says £5.39 each or 2 for £5 - and they are the four pack too.

8 cans of tuna for £1.89 in ASDA longwell green yesterday. Was priced at £2.50 but scanned at the lower price.

Wish I had bought more now!

My local store had signs on the shelves saying that there was another error in a promo leaflet.

600g Jars of Hellmanns Real Mayonnaise are currently £2.79 and BOGOF. The expiry date is 31/05/11, but apparently the leaflet says the expiry date is 7/06/11.

So if your store doesn't have the sign about the error up and you can show them the promo leaflet, you have a decent argument for a DTD refund if you buy on or after June 1.

Being a naive shopper, I grabbed these when they came up, but foolishly didnt check my receipt when I left. Unfortunately I got stung for £13.98, after picking up 4 lots of cans.
After stewing it over for a few days, I went up a few mins ago, on the way back from work, with receipt and leaflet in hand.
A few minutes and a pair of perplexed customer service operatives later, I had been refunded the FULL price for all 4 cans!

Basically, Tesco just gave me £13.98 to take 16 cans of John West Tuna off of them.

    That's what I'd call a result.

I took my leaflet to Tesco's and only purchased two and paid £4 each four pack....off to customer services who advised that the leaflet is subject to availability and the "batch that was purchased for this promotion has now been sold and therefore price for current batch now £4 each four pack".... I argued the point nicely that the leaflet states offer on until 7th June but the store having none of it.

I contacted HO and was informed that the leaflet is a misprint and stores therefore not selling at that price.

Good luck if you can get it at the £2.99 BOGOF - sadly I tried and failed and I only had 2 packs!

    HO reply was pretty useless:

    "Thank you for your email.

I was very sorry to learn of the disappointment caused to you recently when the John West Tuna was a much higher price than advertised in the leaflet you received. I can appreciate how disappointed you must be and I would like to apologise for this.

Unfortunately, this was actually a misprint for which we can only apologise for. As soon as we were made aware of this, we corrected the price in all our stores and in future leaflets that were printed afterwards.

I appreciate that you may feel disappointed, however, please let me assure you it is not our intention to upset our customers and we do not mislead our customers.

We take these complaints very seriously and I can assure you we will do all we can to prevent this happening again in the future.

Once more, I would like to thank you for taking the time and trouble to contact me and I hope this explains the situation. "

Well that is NOT customer service from Tesco just excuses and apologies - totally rubbish
