    All,

It seems most of the posts related to Avons inability to keep their site secure have been deleted.

Once again, it's possible for just about anyone to view current and past orders, name and address, email address and signature of person who takes delivery c/o Lynx.

I'd be very careful in doing business with thm until the site is secure.

I just rang Avon - the customer service rep I spoke to was not aware of the internet security problem, she took my details & said she'd get someone from the internet team to ring me.

I'll let you know how I get on.
  • Woah still Processing

My credit card has been charged tonight and the order still says processing.
We may think we're home & dry on this but there is nothing to stop them sending us the bubblies, just our paid goods.

Nope, they can't pick and choose which bits of your order they want to honour.

If they've charged your card then they're obliged to send you the entire contents of your order as per the contract that now exists between them and you.

Yeah, I know the whole "when is a legally binding contract actually formed" argument has been done to death but it doesn't do any harm to keep oneself mindful one's statutory rights :D

Surprised there isn't a sticky on it actually!

Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.

    just had the following email
    Dear Avon Customer

I am writing to advise you of a technical error that occurred on our
website and affected your recent order.

When you selected your choice of products, the offer for 500ml Avon Bubble
Bath was clearly stated as £4.00 or ' Buy two choose 2nd free'.

However, when your selection was added to your shopping basket, both items
appeared as free. This genuine error means that we are unable to process
your order and I would like to apologise for the inconvenience this may
cause. The error has now been rectified. If you wish to take advantage of
the 'buy one get the same one free' bubble bath offer, please go onto the
    website and re-submit your order.

Thank you for your cooperation and may I apologise for the inconvenience.

    Yours sincerely

    Angela Campbell
    Avon Customer Service Team

i'm sure it didn't say that it said or buy 2 for -£24.00 something like that
  • Not happy that all my reaction to this fiasco posts from last night have been removed! It really was uneblievable and shocking that a reputable company conducts business in this way. They will have lost alot of potential customers from saving a few pounds on site security....
