A cat of mine was shot some years ago - she was shot in the leg. Fortunately she recovered but a few months after this, a neighbour's cat had been shot. It was believed to be a gang of youths who had regularly been hanging around the estate vandalising the area. Seems some other cats in the area had the same fate during this period. We did report the incidents to the police but not sure what ever happened in that respect although the gang disappeared and haven't been seen again since.

I am just reporting in with the latest update... we visited yesterday and he was holding his own, so to speaK..
today the vet phoned and she said he had had a good night, he was drinking ( and weeing..... good sign proves the kidneys are performing)
and he had eaten... he is being kept in and they are going to try him with oral anti-biotics rather than drip/injection....

    sounds promising....:):)

they want a picture of me and the cat!!!..... i have given them a story but i am not giving my picture!!!! my hubby can give his.......his face looks good in the paper........ his footie team is in turmoil and so he is always pictured at the meetings ( photogenic!!!!!)

That's brilliant news that your kitty is showing such good signs of a recovery.

And fab news about the local paper doing a story with a picture. I'd feel the same about having my mush appear in the paper, but how very sporting of your OH to volunteer!! I hope whoever did this awful thing gets caught, or at the very least manages to shoot himself in the foot and it get very badly infected. (That's not my first choice of where a pellet would get imbedded, but children sometimes read this website...)
  • Oh god that is just awful, I am so so sorry. There are some really sicka dn twisted people out there. Poor kitty :(.

i have borrowed one of those indoor dog cases for when sick cat comes home.....i am worried in case he tries to jump up on the surfaces( ouch all those stitches!!)

i will give it a good old scrub, and then put his litter tray, his bed ( i bought him a new, bigger, one) his fluffy toys and his food and drink.......
he wont like it and i am sure my other 5 cats will have a snigger at him 'locked up'.......
but he usually terrorizes them and his favourite trick is 'grabbing' ( me thinks he has been watching too much telly)

i will keep you updated..... xx

it will be a long recovery but thanks for all your kind messages... and support..

Glad he's home OK,Hope they get the sick ***k who did this! When Orbit was getting ill,I put a couple of small tables in front of the windows for him to use as a kind of step ladder to get onto the windowsill.

Good to hear a happy ending.

My daft Tom has gone wandering again & am hoping his nervous disposition means he comes back home ok now.
