First motorbike was a CG125, followed by an , MTX 125 then a GT 550, XBR 500, NTV600 then a NTV650. Then had a brand new GPZ 500s.
Went to cars for a few years then got another GT550 in 2001 followed by a ER5, this got written off in a slow speed RTC.
I did have a Vivacity 100cc for a year, it was mega cheap so thought why not? Sold it to a knowledge boy for a lot more than i paid for it, win.
I just had another thought, Renault 16!!!!!! Oooffff!0 -

Is that the '120Y' Sunny? (B210 series). Would really like to own one in duck egg blue & dustbin lid wheel trims.
I think the designer Wayne Hemingway owns (owned?) one so it scores highly in my books.Generation Rent0 -
I was born in 73. The first car I clearly remember was my Dads MK III Cortina. It was a Ghia, red with a black vinyl roof, truly beautiful car and I'd love to own one now.
He replaced that with a bright ref MK IIII if I remember correctly.
He went right down in my estimation then and bought himself a bright Orange Fiat Strada. God that car was a shed. It was new, yet every panel rattled and fell off. It rusted to !!!!!!y over the course of twelve months lol
He liked cars though did my Dad (Strada aside) and I remember him taking me to look at a TR7 when I was about 7 or so. I loved it. It was white and looked like nothing I'd ever seen before. Of course, older and wiser I know that this is the object of most people's ridicule but I still own and drive one now and personally, I love it! Most kids fall in love with Porsches and Ferrari's, me, I fell in love with a little crappy sports car0 -
My parents had a Vauxhall VX/490 (sporty version of the Victor I think - was in the garage almost every week, and it was rusted through at 4 years old!), a couple of Ford Cortina's, a Datsun Bluebird (180B ), and a Renault 11. They also had another one but for the life of me I can't remember it's name. That was a good one too - I learnt to drive in it. Remembered it! It was a Triumph Acclaim.
This was similar to the Datsun we had - exact same colour as well. I really liked it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/78002012@N00/2197512350/
we had a vx490 when we were kids, well dad did, the floor turned in to a packet of crisps, my brother put his foot through that carpet and floor, it was only 4 years old and could not be welded, my dad put some fibreglass over the whole and sent it to the car auctions.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If we're doing bikes (sorry not in the same league here):
NSU Quickly (50cc moped and totally mis-named!)
Mobylette (had a form of CVT but wasn't cool like my mates FS1E)
Suzuki B120P - bought it new for £220 in 1976 - brilliant little bike & gave over 100mpg0 -

I remember that many members of my family had VW Beetles
We also had (not necessarily in this order):
Marina
Triumph Dolomite Sprint (somebody stole the d.cap & leads from the engine when we were on holiday in Bournemouth)
Mini (bought secondhand, previous owner had left a black umbrella in it)
Austin Princess
MG Metro (imported from Belgium)
MG Maestro (re-built from a wrecked one) (first car I drove after I passed my driving test!):heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

A couple that havnt been mentioned yet that i remember; in the 70's, prior to the Sunny and Cherry, Datsun did a 120 and a ?140. I dont think i ever saw a single one of those that wasnt rusted to bits.
Also, anyone remember a Simca? East european budget car prior to the mass influx of Lada Rivas.
Happy days.
Simca were a French company."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

I started off with a Suzuki AP50 back in 1978. Moved on to a Kawasaki KH125 which was followed by a Moto Guzzi V50 mark 2. This was replaced by a wonderful Moto Guzzi Le Mans II which was a joy to own and ride. I traded it in for a Laverda Mirage 1200TTS, and regreted it.
That was replaced in 1985 with a Kawasaki GPZ900R A2, which I kept for 8 years. That was a quantum leap compared to the Laverda.
I remember the Renault 16 too. My dad had one and I learnt to drive in it. It was quite a durable car and clocked up 120000 miles before the head gasket blew. It was comfy but it rolled in corners like a drunken sailor."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"
