If you do not pay for the products she wants she may charge you more as it takes her more time to do the cleaning. I have heard that this is pretty common and also the case for "green" cleaning products.

How rude to call your cleaner a cheeky cow. I really appreciate my cleaner as she works really hard and makes a huge difference to my life. She has been cleaning for me for five years and i always remember her birthday and christmas. She never complains about the products I buy but I always buy when on bogof or reduced.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

As this has dropped down the board and isn't an Old Style related subject, i've moved it over to the families board to see if anyone over here has similar experience and can maybe offer you some different advice

    thanks :)

    It's not 'Families' either!

    How about 'berate a cheapskate'?

Perhaps Praise Vent and Warnings may be more appropriate? But, I am surprised it was moved from OS as basically its about expensive cleaning products vs cheap cleaning products!

From what i've heard, very few threads remain on OS untouched - they're mostly either moved or merged into old threads. No wonder there are so many 500+ post threads!

well - my mum worked as a school cleaner for years - with little more than bottles of bleach and all purpose cleaner! they couldnt complain and were paid peanuts!
perhaps the ones you provided werent up to her standards. you never know she may suggest a product which doesnt break the bank and that she is happy with.

What job does the OP do as I bet they would prefer being supplied with the proper equipment to do the job properly, cleaners have standards that they work to thats why some are on £17 per hour.

I'd suggest asking her to be more specific if there are particular brands she finds good for particular jobs. I guess some generics might fall a bit short if you're a professional but I wouldn't go out and buy a full set. And I would make it clear that you're having to make other economies in order to fund having a cleaner.

BTW it does make sense to me that it's on this board (or the same amount of sense as it being on any board) - we have had several cleaner related questions before....

£17 an hour??????????? My OH doesnt get that after 25 years and god knows how many promotions!
I didnt get that as a Student Support Tutor!
When I think that my last job was a killer (nearly did me in - trying to lift 36in Tvs off the top shelf of the stock room) and being nice to nasty customers) for less than £6 an hour! I couldve been a cleaner and got nearly three times as much - and dictated terms!
