Orange & A Major Head Ache :\

If the screen has cracked then it most definately has been dropped/damaged. iPhone screens are made of incredibly strong glass that won't just shatter on their own, therefore it is out of warranty by default.
Customers who are in this situation who speak to me are advised to check home contents insurance, or their bank to see if their current account will cover it. Either that, or advise on the costs for Apple or Orange to replace the phone itself (Apple is cheaper).
But what do I know, apparently I'm an idiot.......I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
If you accidently damaged your phone (which it sounds like) then Orange are under no obligation to do anything. Thats why you need to have accident damage insurance.
However if your phone breaks through no fault of your own and it happens to be outside the warrenty Orange DO have an obligation to at least repair it. They will try to tell they dont but check the small print in your contract and the sale of goods act.0
