Monday 23rd May - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D
Morning everyone - happy Monday:T Only 4 working days til half term....woop wooop:beer:
Hope you all had a lovely weekend and are ready for another week. I need to get moving as I'm still sat with wet hair, no make up and in my dressing gown...not a good look for work;)
Time for my list:

Morning all!
Not loads for me today:
[STRIKE]1. Breakfast from home[/STRIKE] Weetabix with flaked almonds, yum!
[STRIKE]2. Check surveys[/STRIKE] Only one so far, from Ipsos. Slow day. Also, got my ShopAndScan account details through, as soon as I get my Clicker I will do my first shop and get £10 Amazon voucher straight away!
[STRIKE]3. Do surveys!!![/STRIKE] One from Ipsos done - survey was 75 points, only a few questions in before got kicked out, but they gave 50 points for getting that far!!! Fantastic!
[STRIKE]4. Lunch from home - batch cooked at weekend[/STRIKE] Same as I'll be having all week - Gigantes Planki (linked to it in the weekend thread) - did it with cous cous and leaves and a cut up tomato, worked really nicely - which is good as another 5 portions to get through!
[STRIKE]5. NSD[/STRIKE] Acheived! Woo hoo!!!
[STRIKE]6. Dinner from batch cooking at weekend[/STRIKE] well, basically eaten anyway...being nuked as I type!
[STRIKE]7. OU online tutorial tonight[/STRIKE] done and we finished early by half an hour hence I had time to pop on here!
8. Eagerly await whatever offer Mr T comes back with re my complaint about the distressing chicken foetus egg Nothing yet - sent the email on Saturday afternoon, grrr..sstill nothing:mad:
Can't think of much else really but that covers the whole day anyway!
Have a fantastic money saving day everyone!

Good morning people,
Jeez can't believe it's Monday already! Busy week this week too.
Didn't sleep well last night as money was playing on my mind, I have two late bills this week but with my eBay money and payday next week it'll be ok. Plan is to nuke the stupid New Look Card which is a massive pain... I took it out when I was at uni - what a fool!
Anyway today:
Checked eBay and made another £30 over night - I can't believe my luck hasn't run out - it was for a BIN on my 'engagement ring' from a guy who was so up himself it was ridic so felt good to make some money on it - Relief though - what with rubbish sleeping!
Checked FB, emails, bank etc. Not a lot going on!
Look for something for my goddaughters first bday - probably look on eBay!!
Work like no tomorrow as have to leave on time tonight for my first day at second job - extra £50+ a week and paid weekly can't be bad!
Plan what I am going to say at my review at real job tomorrow so I don't cry...
Think that's all!!
Hope everyone's Monday isn't too painful xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0 -
Hi everyone
I am flexing this morning off to sort a few bits and pieces out, mainly arranging for someone to come to see the fridge freezer that's kaput again... Long story, not worked right for about 2 years. Last time it took 6 or 7 call outs until they sent the right guy (ie. the only one who knew what he was doing!). I've told them it's the same problem as last time and explained the whole thing but you know what call centres can be like - the whole time I was talking the guy was typing but then obviously came to the box that said 'What is the problem?' and then said "So, the freezer isn't working...?" Argghhh, obviously just been talking to myself then as the freezer part is working fine!! Never getting one of these 2-in-1 combo appliances again - don't get me started on my washer/dryer...
Anyway, I digress...- Batch cooking
- Washing up while the water is still hot - Josie - what is this magic idea that means you never need the tank on again???
- Find something for lunch before going to work
- Clear out 1 drawer - baby steps

- Bit of yoga at home - it's called 'Goal Setting sequence' - so cheesy but I'll give it a go
Did it last night and I did feel so much calmer afterwards - Clear out/clean fridge tonight - guy coming tomorrow
- Called leccy provider - stayed with same supplier but got a capped deal and lowered monthly dd by £38 a month compared to what they first suggested on 'standard' tarrif! :money:
- Email wedding RSVP rather than buying a card and posting
- Use 2nd class post - I'm not in a rush.
- Making soup in SC - some tired looking potatoes and carrots with onion, stock, cumin, garlic and salt - hoping this will work ok...

Morning all
Thanks to Pixie for starting us off. Hope you all had good weekends? I'll catch up on the weekends thread later. Well I had a great weekend with the in-laws and saw a week old baby as well, very cute. My phone interview went OK but I will have to wait a few weeks until I know if I have gotten through to the next round. Discussed exit strategy with DH and he agreed that it's the best course of action, though both of us are hoping that it doesn't come to that!
So today I will:- [STRIKE]Walk to work[/STRIKE]
- Check bank balances
- Check surveys
- Charge mobile at work
- Leftovers for lunch
- Walk home
- Yoga
- Find best price for my old mobile and get cashback too

- Continue the sorting through my clothes
- General tidy up of the flat
- Check jobs websites
Have a great day everyone.
