Hi Cheery
I lurked on your previous thread, and have lurked on this one too, but thought I'd pop in and say hi!
Love the detail in your plans and they've made me think. For the last 8 months I have worked on contract at 2 jobs, and one of these has provided a 'sufficient' income to pay everything, and the other has been 'extras'. The extras one has now ended and I need to work out a way of sustaining this long term.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Is there something else you'd rather do for the 'extras' gilligan?
right, FINALLY back from the hospital. Not my usual doc - lovely man, but forgot to give me prescription (and I forgot to notice :rotfl:).
Anyway, I'm on tablets temporarily to get my thyroid function back to normal, and when it is, they'll refer me to the surgeon to have it taken out. Not entirely sure why it needs to be normal before they take it out and throw it away :rotfl: but I'm sure there's a valid medical reasonNot entirely sure either why I can't be on the surgeon's waiting list *while* they're sorting thyroid out rather than *after* - not so sure that one's a medical reason - perhaps more to do with managing waiting lists?!
Anyway, looks like it'll get sorted out one way or another, hooray! Might be about September - but I'm not sure whether that's to actually see the surgeon, or to have the op. All depends how long it takes me to get back to normal i suppose... And I can still change my mind and have the radiation instead - although I still think I'd rather not..
finally back home and it's pretty much lunchtime! not entirely sure how it took that long?! (maybe all the going backwards and forwards for things I'd forgotten :rotfl:) Best crack on with some work I suppose...0 -
Glad news is OK ish but a way forward!
Lol to forgetting perscription!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

You sound *very* upbeat after that Daffs - I'm glad there is a solution on the horizon. I guess that the waiting for a normal balance to be maintained before they remove it is that it will be easier for your body to start without it from a "normal" setting if you like, than having to not only get used to not having it, but also having to rebalance things at the same time?
I've bookmarked the Redbubble and NARRS sites so thanks for those links ladies - Redbubble looks very interesting - although I'm struggling to find a proper "how it works" thing on there anywhere.....🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Not that upbeat really EH, just glad to be in the system at least! Hate the way these things drag on for months, entirely unnecessarily - absolutely no need for me to have waited the last 5 weeks to get these tablets when they could have written a prescription without even seeing me after seeing my blood test results - i've had them before (or the normal doc could have done it). No need for me to wait now before being referred, but there we are.
All a bit daunting, and just how on earth *do* you make a decision between radiation and having your throat slit?! Because they won't sway you one way or the other, apart from that the radiation presumably costs less cos it doesn't need a hospital stay. I'm heading towards the throat slitting, but not on the basis of anything scientificMore about not wanting to be confined to the spare room for a fortnight by myself while I'm recovering! But is that a good reason?!
Mostly just hungry right nowBut Mr Daffs is in the kitchen with another woman, so I've got to wait til they're done and I can get me noodles

You do sound upbeat Cheery, love the way you describe it as "throat slitting" gruesome imagination running away with me. Not to mention the other woman in the kitchen added to the mix
EH - I never found a how to either. My friend is quite good at is so she told me to treat it a bit like social networking. Get your pictures/poetry/tshirt designs/paintings etc on there. Choose a group to enter them into (they have competitions in some groups - no cash just the prestige) then start commenting or picking people to follow. I dont tend to do too much as I find I dont have the time to dedicate to it but she regularly sells her tshirt designs. You can add links to your twitter and facebook accounts and you can put a link to your art onto your blog. I have mine on my blog as a slideshow. Not quite sure how I managed that one though. Glad things are moving at least on the hospital front. Have they given you good information on the pros/ cons of the two treatments? Not wanting to be stuck in the spare room doesn't sound like too bad a reason - it's nice to be looked after and cuddled when you're recovering!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Well, I won't be taking the option on KC's thread, that's for sure.
I think I need to work out how I want to work, there is work out there, its finding something that suits the way I want to work.
Difficult choices re the thyroid, but as you are young, surgery is probably the only sensible option. If the next appointment is for a consultation, rather than the surgery, make a note to ask about why the levels need to be normal. Years ago, a colleague who had surgery had to take iodine for weeks before the surgery, no idea why.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Apparently either is sensible Gilligan! They advise radiation if you're old and can't tolerate surgery, and surgery if you're planning pregnancy (or already pregnant) and can't have radiation, but otherwise it's much of a muchness!
Did get some info from them - and the British Thyroid Foundation has some good info too. Will ask more questions next time I go back.
A bit of patchwork progress :T Rang up about flute lessons yesterday and got the name of someone who will service it for me - rang up and I'm taking t over this afternoon :T :T Going to take my completely ancient fell-off-the-back-of-a-lorry one from when I very first started too - Mr Daffs likes to keep one lying around the house to play with - and I'm not convinced I'm going to be happy about that being mine once it's been fettled :rotfl: :rotfl:
Just trying to work out when on earth I can get over to pick it up before our tooting sessionThey only seem to be there for 3 hours every afternoon - and I'm oing to be in either York or Newcastle most days next week! Might talk very nicely to Mr Daffs

Re updating website NARRS seem to update some bits and not others, so it isn't completely forgotten or anything
Hospital visit sounds positive to me! Is it sad to ask if you have named your flute?Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0
