This is a good place to book rooms,we have used them a lot.

We have stayed at the New Frontier in the Atrium suites and they are very nice and spacious, the casino is not as flashy as the others , but there is nothing wrong with the rooms and the position is central, so you can walk to most casinos etc from there. Circus Circus is crowded and full of kids. The key to Vegas it to sleep cheap,( I don't mean a grotty Motel) and not choose the flashiest place to stay, you don't neccasarily get better room at those places

You could check out and go to Primm for the weekend, there are three Casinos and a roller coaster there , also a shopping mall.

Good Mexican in the New Frontier and free frozen margarittas that split your head in two. Another alternative to Primm is Mesquite, a bit further away, but definitely a bit more up market than Primm, which I would rate slightly less seedy/ more safe than down town Vegas. Half way to Bryce Canyon that should be a must for everybody with a day or two free.

We always go for a Mexican at the Frontier, the Fajitas are yummy, we stay in Laughlin and go to Vegas for the day sometimes, I agree about Mesquite it is better than Primm

We prefer Laughlin to Vegas, much more friendly and the casinos rooms are a lot cheaper. we like the Ramada Express, the lounge has great entertainment each night.

By the way if you can find the San Fernando band while in Vegas they are definately worth seeing, usually at the Gold Coast and Caesers barge, occasionately downtown at the Golden Nugget.

A few reviews of Sahara here:

    http://las-vegas-hotels.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g45963-d97733-Reviews-Sahara_Hotel_Casino-Las_Vegas_Nevada.html

Ranked 107 out of 235 Las Vegas hotels. Reviews are mixed - all the way from 1 out of 5 to 5 out of 5.

    http://www.cheapovegas.com/vegas_casino_full.php?hotel_id=1043

Describes it as good value - "Nice but unspectacular. Rooms are very reasonably priced for the Strip, and they offer decent gambling."

Overall score of 6.275 out of 10, with 71% saying they would visit again.

You are free to air your views and opinions just as I am.
We enjoyed Vegas staying at Circus Circus and we enjoyed taking the kids with us.
We did not see or experience anything that we did not want to see.
Good luck on your next visit.

If money is not a problem the Bellagio or the Venetian are the best places to stay and eat. I do not think the Wynn is as nice as the Bellagio. Not only are they superb hotels but they are in the best location. You do not need a car because it is better to take cabs everywhere. Looking at a map places seem very close to each other but the hotel grounds are huge and it can take ages to walk. Lower priced but excellent location would be Treasure Island, Aladdin or Paris.

Not a place for children in my opinion. If you have children there are far better places to take them. There is an element of sleaze as one would expect from “the Adult Entertainment Industry” but the security at the better hotels means you will not be plagued with leaflets anywhere near them – walking down the street is another matter.
  • I don’t know how many English people know this but Americans are taxed on their winnings but that means they can set their losses against tax. Also if you are a regular they let you stay and eat for free, I have a friend who regularly stays at the Venetian and although I am tempted to say “it does not cost her a penny” what I mean is that her room and food are not charged. I do not doubt that she spends a great deal more on gambling that she would if she just paid for her room. Anyway regular gamblers have a card which they swipe at any machine or table and that logs the amount of time and money you spend at each hotel/casino. If it is a lot the hotels want you back so give inducements such as room and food. She paid for dinner in the Prime (downstairs in the Bellagio) so perhaps it is only the buffet meals that you can have on the house.

Anyone can get a slot club card, you usually get a book of coupons to use on meals etc, and if you are a heavy gambler you can soon rack up some points. It pays to join the slot club if you frequent a favourite casino.

Frequent gamblers do get room and meal comps, although it usually specifies which restaurant, it's mostly the buffets.
They will have paid for their "free" rooms many times over.
It is really sad to see people wandering about with their buckets, there is only one winner !

Hi, i have stayed at the venetian and the new york, new york. The New york, new york is lovely not as posh as the venetian but still clean which is all you need. You dont spend your holiday in your room. I have heard bad things about the circus, circus. My mum stayed and had to be moved. There are two parts, an older part and a slightly newer one. There room was dirty, mouldy not nice! suppose it depends on where they put you. If you go on the new york, new york official site the have specials which are usually good. But depends on when you go
