We did Circus Circus last month and if he does not mind kids then he should be ok there.
I did a Trip advisor report on the hotel.
As we live up North we booked flights and hotel through BMI 's website (from Manchester) the site then takes you to Expedia for the hotel booking.
As long as there is no huge convention or holiday (Presidents day is back end of February) he should be able to get a good deal.
I am off in feb to circus circus from manchester....what was circus circus like?
I am going with my mum and her friend....Did you eat in the hotel at all..Breakfast etc
    Thanks
  • Hey

I've been to vegas twice - first time we stayed in The Monte Carlo - really lovely but not cheap.

The second time we stayed in the Imperial Palace - it works out at around 380 pound for 7 days but is def worth the extra because of the location. It's right in the middle of the strip, opposite Caesars palace and close to the Bellagio and the other main hotels. The Strat and Circus Circus are good too, but personally I would go for a more central location. Both the above hotels are at the end of the strip so you have to walk quite a bit to get to the main part. You don't realise until you get there just how far apart the hotels are from each other - they look next door on a map but because they're so big they are actually quite far away.

Also if you book directly with your hotel, either via phone or online, most will give you a discount or upgrade/free tickets etc.

Hope you get sorted, you will have an absolutely fantastic time! :j

PS - If you can afford it I really really recommend the night time helicopter trip over the strip and especially the sightseeing flight to the Grand Caynon....well worth the money if you can do it. Also there is a little book of discounts you can buy before you go which gives you BOGOF buffets etc - think it was about 15-20 quid https://www.lasvegasperks.com

This post is a bad influence on me.....will have to go and look at some brochures......

I understand money is tight but Circus Circus is cheapest for a very good reason . it's the poor man of the strip ( The Frontier may be cheaper and even more Sleazy.., but it is ADULT sleazy at least) and in a town where money is everything you are aware it,s the bottom of the barrel

i read a very good statement about the place in a travel guide " Circus Circus just carries on regardless".it survives ( very well) by being so cheap and catering for the one group none of the others won't KIDS

IMO and the casino operators as well kids have no place in the Vegas experiance. Cruel i know but surely no one can get offeneded if one place is designed to be Child free...hell Florida is for familys ...Vegas is for grown ups!!!

that said if you plan to be out and about on the strip and can tolerate the little ones then as a place to sleep only ...it will be okay.

you will have a great time on your trip but the highlights of your trip will be away from your hotel. enjoy:dance:

P.S the money you are saving can be used for the Grand Canyon helicopter trip which is a must
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

If you register on the forum boards at https://www.lasvegastalk.com I did a trip report on there at the end of November.
Depends on what you want really and how much you are prepared to pay.
We had 4 of us go with BMI and Circus Circus through Expedia for £1700 which I think was dead cheap.
Yes it has load of kids so what I was one once!
No it is not the Ritz but as long as you book a sky tower room you should be ok. We were able to walk all the way from CC right up the strip to the Mandelay Bay and back again (4 1/2 miles) no bother- with the deuce bus at $2 per ride if you tire.
There are some ignorant posters on here that think Vegas is just for them - well its not just as Disney is not just for kids.
Do what you want to do but I would agree that if you save by going here then use that saving by going to Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam.

To answer your question about eating - yes we had a few breakfasts at the Casino Cafe (used to be known as Pink Pony) - one expensive meal at the Steakhouse (very nice but very dark in there) and we tried the buffet - but that was not too impressive.

    What a load of tripe!

    Vegas is an ADULT playground.
    24hrs of gambling,drinking and naked women...

Circus Circus was Ok in the 70's but it is now really showing it's age.

It is MILES from the centre of the strip, though if you're informed it's fun to go DOWNTOWN, which is not that far from CC.

The DEUCE bus is usually full and is VERY slow so expect a long wait and a crawl through traffic on a very packed bus.

It's false economy to try to save money in Vegas. From the UK it's a long haul so splash out, stay somewhere central and in some spleandour. Time it right i.e midweek and NOT when there's a HUGE convention and it won't cost the earth.

Have fun, that's what the place is all about!

well I don't mind staying at circus circus as the only time I will spend in the hotel is when I go to bed late at night as I will be up and out in the morning...I am not spending 7 days sitting in the hotel...I take all views onboard about the hotel but I can't afford Luxor or any of the others and my mum stayed in Motel 6 last time she went so it's got to be more lively than that
    Thanks ejones999 for your help

There are some ignorant posters on here that think Vegas is just for them - well its not just as Disney is not just for kids.

Naive or just plain dumb Where to start ?????

It is just for us, cause they have made it just for us

THEY being the casino owners ( Circus Circus group included) . Go into any of the big casino's with your Kids and you will confronted with signs saying "under 21's are not permitted in this area " all over the place. they might as well say "your kids are not welcome here". in the Bellagio kids will be ejected if they are unescorted by a adult.

Vegas is FULL of things that you don,t want to expose your kids too. Shows featuring Nudity are very common and advertised widely. worse than that on a lot of places on the strip there are men handing out Phone sex and Escort services cards to ANYONE who will take them all day every day. they are often dropped and litter certain parts of the strip. they also have phone sex magazines in little stands (that are close to top shelf magazines here) freely availble to anyone who wants to pick one up. Also Strip clubs , gentlemans bars ans escort agencies have mobile Billboards driven up and down the strip Constantly. here is a example of one i saw " Barely Legal Girls to your Room 24hrs Call ******" in Huge letters with a very suggestively half undressed model on it. add to that adverts like " fire a machine gun here " " mud wrestling topless girls " ect.
Even the shows that are not Saucy are still aimed at adults. Rita Rudner , Amazing Johnaton, Mamma Mia , any Cirque De solique, celine dion, Hell even the Blue man group ( which i saw in Toronto last week and Highley recommend ) , they are not produced with children in mind.
just as Disney is not just for kids

the difference is that Disney has things that adults can enjoy as well or at least enjoy that their kids enjoy it., because the kids cannot get there without the adults.it does not work the other way around

adult themes and such can be inapporiate for kids . kids themes are not inapporiate for adults

Kids are welcome in any other holiday destination is it really so bad to have one that they are not???? one where adults can have adult fun without the kids. The Casino's don,t think so and neither do i. and beside which Kids and young people are lacking the one thing you need more then anything else in Vegas MONEY.

Taking your kids to Vegas hell you might as well take them out drinking in a town center of a weekend. Irresponsible is what it is
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:
  • I would not stay at the Stratosphere because it is too far away from everywhere else BUT it does have a superb restaurant upstairs where you are on a level with flying helicopters. Do not just turn up make a reservation if you want to go.

This is a good place to book rooms,we have used them a lot.
    https://www.nrbinc.com/

We have stayed at the New Frontier in the Atrium suites and they are very nice and spacious, the casino is not as flashy as the others , but there is nothing wrong with the rooms and the position is central, so you can walk to most casinos etc from there. Circus Circus is crowded and full of kids. The key to Vegas it to sleep cheap,( I don't mean a grotty Motel) and not choose the flashiest place to stay, you don't neccasarily get better room at those places

You could check out and go to Primm for the weekend, there are three Casinos and a roller coaster there , also a shopping mall.
