Evening all. I had a mad 20 minute session of trying on everything in my wardrobe this morning, which resulted in two bags of clothes to go to the Trust's table top sale this afternoon. I even managed to be ruthless and take the stuff that didn't sell to the charity shop rather than taking it back home, though admittedly a lot of that was down to my friend Helen holding open a bin bag and giving me a stern look
I did cave in and buy a new fleece when I was picking up some shavings for my horse, but in my defence a) it was reduced to £7.30 and b) my two current fleeces are both 10 years old and nearly threadbare. I'm steeling myself to replace my Puffa jacket, which was a Christmas present from my parents when I was 11 (I'll be 36 this year:D) - it's done remarkably well, but I think it's time to give it an honorable burial somehwere!0 -

Evening all!
Sorry I've been away for a little while. Something upset me on another board, and I decided to stay away for a while. Everything is ok now though.
Welcome back chunky.
Happy belated birthday to serena, and anyone else I may have missed since I've been gone - I hope you all had fabulous days.
News from my end - I've just started a new teaching job. I'm still on a supply basis through my agency, but am working in a Year 1/2 class until the end of the Summer term. I had my first couple of days on Thursday and Friday whilst the teacher was still there, but don't feel like I've had much of a handover, and I'm feeling a bit daunted by the planning that I have to do, as I've never had a class in these year-groups before. Starting at this point in the year, it's hard to know what they have and haven't done already and although the teacher was in, I wasn't given any time with her away from the children to discuss things properly. We are doing extended stories in literacy (The Twits is what has been chosen for us by the Deputy Head, who is also phase leader), and I'm a bit concerned having seen some of their writing on Thursday (they wrote little books about themselves for me), that some of them aren't brilliant at writing a few sentences, let alone a story with parts/chapters. Oh well, I, and they, can only do our best. On the plus side, we are learning about the seaside in our topic, and we will be going on a day trip to the Isle of Wight at the end of June, so I'm looking forward to that.:T
Flying today - I bought a new bathroom spray (the stardrops wasn't cutting through the limescale) and some more antibac wipes for our kitchen worktops (they are old and dimply, so although I clean them, I'm always worried that they aren't completely clean unless I do this step too). I've used the bathroom spray, but I think I'll need to get the vinegar out again anyway to soak, as it hasn't removed much of the limescale as there was a bit of a buildup around the plug and taps. It smells nice, although it reminds me a bit of a men's fragrance, so was a bit worried Moon would think I'd had a man in the house whilst he'd been at work.:rotfl:
I've also half-made some vegetable soup for my lunches this week (need to blitz it but Moon was watching TV and I didn't want to disturb his viewing), and was very MSE and saved the brocolli stalk from earlier in the week to put in it, instead of binning it. :money:
Well I guess I'd better go and get on with making the dinner (it was meant to be HM veggie lasagne, but I forgot to buy lasagne sheets, so it will be pasta bake now with salad), and blitzing the soup.
Hugs to all who need or want them.
