Didn't achieve as much as I had hoped today :(
After the kids went home I vac'd up (again!), brought the washing in and watered the garden. The kids were nagging me for a Subway, so I bribed them for one (empty DW & walk the dog :)). Cooked myself a nice healthy pasta & chicken meal :A
I have now ground to a halt with a serious case of CBA :p

I need to wrap up DD's present & find the cards we bought for tomorrow. I must try & remember to make her a chocolate cake tomorrow!!! (can someone remind me??! :T)

I may try and clear some PC based items off my list whilst I am sitting on my backside and waiting for DH to let me know he has arrived safely :)

Toots - it's calmed down up on the north coast, hopefully that'll spread throughout the rest of the country fairly soon. I nearly got blown over getting the bin down the drive, only grabbing the gate stopped me landing on my backside!
it has calmed down here too - the fence survived just but it is at a funny angle - will get LL to check it tomorrow.
PenPen my poor DB has eggs in the incubator and they have been without power since lunchtime:o
greenbee hope all goes well tomorrow
aj bad luck about the car door but like you say it could have been much worse - it must have been really wild for them to have totally shut the bridge - what a nightmare - its bad enough when its just to high sided stuff.
AnW'sMum love that song - another for my collection
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

    Evening all

Hope everyone is managing OK with this dreadful weather. I'm quite scared at the moment. I think I might lose a tree...its not close to my house or any neighbours, but the noise is awful.

I wont be around tomorrow as I'm going to Mums to help out with Nana and my darling nephew (10 months). I had plans of taking him to the duck pond. If the weather continues like this, we'll be blooming well joining the ducks!

    Stay safe xx

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

Had a pleasant hour in the library earlier :D I sat and went through some woodwork books looking at projects because I'm hoping to make something from scratch as I can't find what I want in the shops or on the 'net. I haven't done proper woodwork for 12 years so making sure I measure the space, plan, measure again, cost materials in a couple of places THEN triple check everything before buying the stuff. Oh and I'll throw a "raid my dads shed" in there as well for the drill and any other tools I may need ;) I'm sure he won't mind as long as he gets them back:D I'll get the books out closer to time when I'm making it but I now have a very clear image in my head of what I want. Also guessing it will cost me alot less than the £60 Oxfam option I saw which was nowhere near big enough and needed work ;)

I have a to-do list that needs to get done tonight so I'm going to write it here, tackle it then sort tomorrows list. I've printed my toots list out and I'm slowly chipping away at it.

    Tonight:
    iron work clothes
    Put colour on hair
Source lunch (ham salad I think...will have to look and see what I have in)
    Sort bag out
    Get everything out for tomorrow
    bath for me
Curl up with a book for 30min in the hopes I'll sleep tonight ;)

Right, before I do anything else I really need to check the instructions on this hair colour...last thing I want is to leave it on too long or not long enough (been there, done that :o)
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
  • All quiet down this way. It's a bit cooler than it has been, a little blustery, but not anything like anyone has experienced - although I did see the trams were delayed due to a tree on the track somewhere or another as I went past the stop on the bus.

Played at the club tonight as usual, which is always challenging but enjoyable, so I'll be in a good mood for the next day or so. They should provide free music to people on the NHS - would save a fortune in drugs. But, as they can't even provide it free for children , I won't be holding my breath for that.

Wretched cat has gone AWOL again. He had better hope I'm still awake when he decides to shout up at me from the driveway, as I will not be held responsible for my actions if he wakes me up. If not, he's going to have a cold night behind the shed until about 7.15am when Minion feeds them.

Speaking of Minion, she spilt some lasagne on the kitchen floor and ONLY WENT AND GOT SOME KITCHEN ROLL TO CLEAN IT UP!!!!

Set my new alarm for the morning and hope it wakes me up - so far, the ticking isn't audible, which is a pretty important thing for me.

One of the other cats is taking advantage of stoopid's absence and is standing on my pillow, rumbling like a tank and trying to groom my hair with her fangs. Ow!

I think I hear a pathetic yowling at yon window. Stoopid cat, stoopid cat, wherefore art thou and WHY CAN'T YOU COME IN WHEN YOU ARE CALLED????
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
