Truvelos use a white flash with a magenta (~purple) filter so that they dont blind you like Gatsos.0

^^ I thought they used a high power infrared flash at around 850nm wavelength, making it only partly visible to the human eye?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

We used to have discussions at work to see who had flashed the most cameras enroute to an Emergency Call or on an Emergency Transfer.
What always surprised me was the fact that a lot of limits in the SE are really rather low for the roads, thus if you took somebody from the RLH to the Burns Unit at Broomfields and used the Limehouse link, A13, M25 then A12 route you could easily flash 15 cameras, almost certainly made a lot of paperwork for the people that are tasked with sorting out the paperwork, believe it or not the Trust still get sent the pictures of the offence, then they are checked against what the vehicle was doing to make sure we were acting within the law.
I don't think they can trace the Make Ready drivers though, no proof who was driving, as they are employed by a third party company, strange how Fuel Card theft has also been endemic since these Contractors got allowed to use Service vehicles!0 -

Does a IR pass filter look magenta to the naked eye? Anyone? (can't remember)“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I think I'll take the statement from the manufacturers website over that guide.
I've also looked at one up close, there's a piece of purple plastic covering a normal looking (albiet large) flash unit in there.
Also look at the purple tinge in the Truvelo photograph I posted, if it was IR the resulting image would be monochrome and based on heat emissions, as opposed to full colour with some odd tinting.0
