Just out of interest anyone know if forward facing GATSOs (like they have in Germany) are approved for use here?

Are they technically GATSOs in Germany? The forward facing ones I've seen there (and in Norway) have a dull red flash rather than a bright white one.

Let's just say my clean licence isn't necessarily down to a holier than thou attitude.

I would say it's down to luck (and knowing where the cameras are).

If you say that you never break speed limits, I'll be very dubious about your honesty :D

Well if you don't know where the cameras are, you don't know where the rest of the hazards are. That gets to the crux of the point I was making. No luck involved.

And if you're in an unfamiliar area?

I'm pleased you don't deny it though - nice to see someone honest about it :)

And if you're in an unfamiliar area?

If you are in an unfamiliar area, you don't know the roads. If you don't know the roads you are far more likely to come a cropper, and speed then becomes a much more serious potential problem. Behaving yourself therefore becomes more important than normal.

I'm going no further than that ;)

Oh come on old chap, that depends very heavily on the type of roads - you may be on an unfamiliar wide straight road with a stupidly low limit - they do exist.

Perhaps I am fortunate not to come across a road that is as you describe but that nonetheless has a camera that isn't easily seen.
