The Ignore Function is a bit rubbish

Everyone I punch in it comes up as not in the member's list. So I have to wait until I see them again and go to their user page and do it there.
Can't we make it a bit easier?

It works, just not in the way you are trying...
Click on the username of the person you want to ignore, on that page there is a drop down list entitled 'User Lists'. Click on that and 'add to ignore list'.0 -

true, i agree with OP, it could (settings permitting ? ) be added to the actual poster id name drop-down menu -- would make it more immediate (but possibly more accidental ? )BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

You do have to go and finda post by them, then use the user list drop down as you say.
Even when I start typing, and their name comes up in red in the ignore function as a person in the database it still tells me they're not recognised when I click on it.Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -
It's a bug in the vBulletin forum software, so not something that necessarily has a quick fix.
As said in this link, MSE Ian is looking to get it sorted if they can.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3036748No in this case you haven't typed the case incorrectly. I can replicate that problem. That box is most definitely misbehaving.
I'll see that it's dealt with. Meanwhile thanks for posting the workaround.

This should hopefully be resolved.
