The Ignore Function is a bit rubbish

Everyone I punch in it comes up as not in the member's list. So I have to wait until I see them again and go to their user page and do it there.

Can't we make it a bit easier?

It works, just not in the way you are trying...

Click on the username of the person you want to ignore, on that page there is a drop down list entitled 'User Lists'. Click on that and 'add to ignore list'.

true, i agree with OP, it could (settings permitting ? ) be added to the actual poster id name drop-down menu -- would make it more immediate (but possibly more accidental ? )

You do have to go and finda post by them, then use the user list drop down as you say.

Even when I start typing, and their name comes up in red in the ignore function as a person in the database it still tells me they're not recognised when I click on it.

It's a bug in the vBulletin forum software, so not something that necessarily has a quick fix.

As said in this link, MSE Ian is looking to get it sorted if they can.
