Ignore

I'm trying to put someone on Ignore but, when I put the name in I get a message that the name's not on the database. I've checked several times and even cut and pasted the name but with no joy and the name is on the members' list.
I'd be grateful for any advice.

Its worked for me before. Have you tried with another name just to test?0

A few people have reported this. You should still be able to do it the other way though - go into their profile and click on the User Lists option.Gone ... or have I?0

Fermi's suggestion is the easiest solution. When these issues crop up it's usually down to case sensitivity. You have to get the mix of upper and lower case letters correct in the name.

Not just that Ian. As said, there is a bug that sometimes effects manually adding someone to the "Ignore list" by typing in their username when it starts with a capital.
For example, if I try to manually add Oldernotwiser then this happens.
I haven’t got the username or case wrong at all there.
The "bug" means that it just isn't recognised, even though it is correct.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

No in this case you haven't typed the case incorrectly. I can replicate that problem. That box is most definitely misbehaving.
I'll see that it's dealt with. Meanwhile thanks for posting the workaround.

Last time I looked, this seemed to be a known longstanding vBulletin bug?
So may have to wait for the next upgrade IF they fixed it in VB4? I'm not 100% sure that they have?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Yes, I have trouble with this as well. One has to hunt the person down , reading some more of their inane nonsense in the process in order to use the user list to block them.0

This should hopefully be resolved.
