Just popping in to say thanks Bitsy for the update on Daisy. Dolly has her paws crossed for her.

No jaw op for her today. They don't think she can see either
They are treating her with some more anti imflammatory drugs so hopefully the blindness is not a permament thing and just some swelling in near her eyes
Thanks for Dolly crossing her paws

Hi everyone.
My first post on this type of thread. Just wanted to tell you about my productive and OS weekend so far. Have planted out my veg and herbs and I've even been able to taste the rocket - yummy! Considering I'm a complete novice at growing things, they're doing quite well.
I've been shown how to knit (basics only so far) so I'm looking forward to practicing. Even if I only manage a scarf or oven mitt type thing, I'll still be proud. I've also built a table for the chillies and tomatoes. I had some wood in the shed from a shoe rack I got frustrated with trying to put together. My neighbour gave me the legs off her old kitchen table, and hey presto, I have a (slightly wobbly) veg table.
Dinner was roast chicken with parsnip, carrot, courgette, onion, pepper and garlic as well as dauphnoise potatoes. Potatoes are from Aldi - and very nice they are too. Decided to have a proper dinner today, as doing a car boot sale tomorrow. The car is loaded up and everything is ready to go, including packed breakfast/lunch. If the last two sales we've done is anything to go by, we should make around £100 - all from stuff around the flat (I do the booting with my neighbour). We're saving up to go away for a couple of nights somewhere in the summer, possibly Dartmoor or Cumbria (any recommendation for dog-friendly accomodation much appreciated
).
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. I'll try to keep up with these threads when I can.Call me what you like, I was a bit "tiddly" when I chose my username
