Welcome Car Finance - What To Do?

I'm with Apples on this one. Did the OP not actually realise he would always be looking over his shoulder after not paying for the car in the first place?
@OP
What will you do if they now repo the car that you dont actually own? You'll have no chance of getting further credit to buy a new one, And to top it off you still owe for the old one.
Unfortunately, having taken advice from another forum, things may not be as you say. But then, no doubt the high and mighty on here will no doubt say that the advice I have been given is crap. Anyway, I don't really give a !!!!, to insinuate I have stolen the car when you do not know the full story, only what you have read in a few lines on an internet forum, well, you must lead such perfect lives.
What will I do? If they attempt to repo the car now, I'd most likely give it to them, but then having been given advice that all that is owed is the arrears upto termination (of course, wouldn't have received such advice from the whiter than white, holier than thou, elite on here), I'd probably go down that avenue and keep hold of the car, thus sticking two fingers up to those mentioned above.0 -
In all honesty, why go through all this?
If you'd have just kept to your agreement and paid what you agreed then YOU wouldn't have to go all high and mighty yourself?
Even if your old banger does go to the repo man or you hand it back, the chances are your credit file will be so full of bad info from the whole episode you've no chance of another car.

I think the attitude of some users on this board is just as bad, but obviously, being long term users, and riding a moral high horse, means they can say what they feel without any comeback.
So, lets say I take your advice, and pay for a larger car, what do I do with this one? Like I said, apart from one attempt to repo it, Welcome haven't bothered, so, am I to have this car parked outside on our drive for time eternal?
As for the moral high ground, are you saying I should have taken one of my vehicles on credit and not paid for it just to be the same as you? Credit costs more for all of us because of people such as yourself doing things like this.
As for what to do about the vehicle you have, contact welcome and find that out for yourself, or as you say, you could just keep driving it or just leave it there for time eternal.Sufolklad" wrote:to insinuate I have stolen the car when you do not know the full story
Like I said, you've asked for advice on how to get away with something, not on how to save money.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Suffolklad wrote: »I'm not in a postion to pay off the finance, original amount £7500The situation I am in at the moment is that we are in need of a bigger car, but am stuck with this one and no idea as to what to do. Given Welcome's situation at the moment, is it likely that they'll do anything about it?
If you're not in a position to pay £7,500, how will you cope with an even higher loan/finance for a bigger car? I imagine you've been using the car all this time - I should think there's a hefty amount of unpaid interest and charges accruing once Welcome catch up with you, and I think they will.
You're stuck with this car as it is unsaleable in it's financed state. You could do an HPI check on it and see whether the HP has miraculously disappeared - at least that way you could sell it - that's if you felt comfortable about doing so of course!0 -
Right, I have a car with Welcome finance. After two missed payments it was defaulted, then terminated. That was just under 3yrs ago, and only one attempt to repo it has been made. I have made Welcome aware of every change of address, spoken to Lewis after being informed it was them who had taken it on, all to no avail. Now, where I come from, TERMINATION means the end, finished, no more. At no point have I refused to hand over the car, at no point have I said I wasn't willing to make arrangements to pay.
So, how does that make me a thief? Is it my fault that Welcome have failed to collect the car? Is it my fault that Welcome or Lewis have failed to make contact regarding the outstanding finance? Maybe I should spend my time chasing Welcome and Co and bending over backwards to do their job for them.
The majority of replies have been of the negative variety, personally I couldn't care.
Have I mentioned the lack of a true copy of the agreement? The incorrectly worded default? The whole host of problems associated with the finance on the car, I do believe I haven't, but in the MSE world, it doesn't matter about those minor details.
As for the car being a banger, afraid not. When it was purchased, it was already a repo from another finance company, the price paid was 3k les than book price, for what at the time was, a 3yr old, top of the range Mondeo, so even now, with a few more miles on the clock, it is far from being a banger.
So, you can climb down from your high horses, step back from your moral high grounds, I don't want your advice now, I have received far more help and advice on other forums than I have on this one, and so far none of the comments have been in any way negative. Make of that what you will, I don't really care.
One last thing, !!!!!!!! to the lot of you.0 -

No mention of stealing it, or anything of that nature. If you don't agree with my post, why reply? I think the attitude of some users on this board is just as bad, but obviously, being long term users, and riding a moral high horse, means they can say what they feel without any comeback.

Oh poor you having to keep a car you haven't paid for that belongs to someone else because you don't want to give it back or keep it. Hang on, I'll see if I can find a violin to play. Oh wait, I'm all out of sympathy.
As for pay for a larger car, you seem not to have the money to do so anyway. You cannot even afford to pay for the car you already have. You probably won't get credit on a new one so seems a bit catch 22 and a moot issue.
Incidentally, being long term users doesn't make any odds at all. All of the people on here are strangers to me. Some of them just have posted more text that others. I quite often think someone with 10 posts is less foolish than someone with thousands. It just so happens that you have few posts and seem pretty dishonest. I don't really think we should have to wait until you have been here a while before we can be honest and post freely. Or do you think there should be an honesty amnesty until you are under a false sense of security? If you would like to pretend everyone agrees with you, go ahead. From now on I will pretend that I don't think you are foolhardy and in denial.

My,my, my! You are a charmer.
Model citizen, pillar of the community etc etc
It may NOT be a banger but don't get proud because not matter how you try and polish it, it doesn't belong to you does it?
I normally sympathise with someone in your position but in your case, I truly hope Big Ron from the Welcome collections department comes knocking soon.
Maybe you could make a getaway in your "top of the range" Mondeo? LOL"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
