I went for the meal deal ,with the turners ,got to check out didnt work,so they let me try the other bottle of turners ,they then called the wine supervisor who said they only had three cheaper wines on the deal,

I pointed out it was on the web site showed the printout ,they were having none of it ,this was Blackpool extra no deal for me.

Last week in store they announced cooked chickens all reduced to half price ,went to get one the sa said no its a mistake ,they were still announcing it ,no chicken for me.

Just been 'trouted' by one CS, one Team Leader, and one Duty Manager.

All were nice enough, but were pretty useless.

NB for anyone buying 2 meal deals and for some reason it not working on one, it will likely be that the fact you can buy 2 starters and a main or two desserts and a main, means that when you buy two deals then the two starters make the deal work.

In my (very large Extra) store the had NO desserts at all, NONE!!

I asked a guy filling shelves and he went in the back but found none, and suggested that the Mocha Tart with 'meal deal' on it (on the shelf but no SEL) would work (not on website though), and also there might be something on the dessert shelves at the end of the store. I went there and pulled a pack of GuPuds as the website has them part of the deal, but only one deal worked so I paid the full £29.78 and trotted off to CS for DTD, but they were having none of it.

She couldn't get any deal to work (we now realise that 2 starters and a main WOULD have worked - neither desserts did), and after 20 minutes she was all ready to give me £9.78, but not DTD, so I asked for the Manager. She too said neither dessert was right and so wouldn't give DTD.

She tried to say ONLY Tesco Finest items were in the offer, but I again showed the website that showed Gu Puds, but she said you cant rely on the website and stores basically offer different items. I also pointed out that Turner Rd worked fine and it wasn't a Tesco brand. She could not explain it.

I am firing a complaint off to H.O. on this basis, and will see what transpires.

On the plus side I got the deals for £20, using a £20 DTD voucher, and will get a RTD voucher tomorrow for about £12 for the Turner Rd.
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)
    Quidco and Topcashback, £4,569
    Shopandscan, £2,840
    Tesco Double The Difference, £2,700
    Thomson EU261/04 Claim, £1,700
    British Airways EU261/04 Claim, EUR1200
  • As i said, I went online this morning and sure that none of these "yellow special offers" showing! Went just looking again tonight, when you click onto these special offers-it list all items on meal deal and no Turners Road Chardonnay?????????? I think perhaps they have found the glitch and try to retify, before lose any more money after the dtd episode. OR AM I JUST IMAGINING A CONSPIRACY THEORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

The GU puds are not in the deal, they look like they should be but don't actually have the "special" yellow deal thing online.....
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

The ONLY ones that work, unless anyone can confirm otherwise are:

    Sides
    Cheddar Mash
    Green Veg Selection
    Spinach & Mascarpone
    Morrocan Couscous
    Rosemary Roasted Potatoes

    Main
Chicken & Ham Hock Lattice Pies
    Haddock Fishcakes
    Aberdeen Meatballs
    Chicken & Asparagus
    Lasagne
    Pepper and Spinach Lasagne
    Chicken, Cheddar & Ham

    Desserts
    Strawberry Cheesecake
    Tartes Au Citron
    Belgian Chocolate Sponge Puddings
    Cheese Selection

And then of course add the magic Turners....

  • Bought 2 meal deals today, in the store I was in the wine for the meal deal was on a display in the wine aisle but the Turners was not on it. They didn't have any red Turners in the store so took 2 x chardonnay Turners (there was no sign on the SEL or bottle that they were in the deal) and asked the assisatant to check if it was on the deal. She rang it through and it came up as £20 for the 2 deals, she told me it was very confusing which wine was with the offer and loads of people didn't know.....
They only had cheesecake or cheese as desserts in my store (tried the cheesecake before and didn't like it), will try a different store tomorrow and try the lemon tarts if poss.

Still getting used to having to pay for my shopping in Mr T's (after DTD), everything should be free...or as good as.:rotfl:
