I think its great that so many people are getting a bargain meal here, but a word of warning, this food is VERY unhealthy for you.

Take for example the Finest Mash. One look at the front of this and you will see that by eating just hHALF of this alone gives you approximately a whole days worth or 20G of saturated fat. That is the recommended maximum DAILY amount of saturated fat for an adult. And thats just the mash!.

Now look at the strawberry dessert for example. Again, another 15G of saturated fat in just one of those.

Dont believe me?. Just check the front of the packaging on all of these, it's all there.

Dont get me wrong, I dont want to be kill joy here, and I love this food too. Once in a while is fine, but its when people talk of loading up there freezers or living off the stuff for days on end.

Good point - but you can choose healthy option if you want - I've been dieting and am 3lb away from my first goal to lose 2 stone (Yay!) - i have been eating half pack of the chicken and asparagus, and the green veggie pots, but taking out the herb butter! I'd have to say though that if it were not for the current glitch I would go for M&S meal deal every time - bigger selection, much better quality food, usually got a lot more stock, and options like new potatoes, salad, fruit salad, etc. also can get whole chickens, which makes it more than one meal. But for the moment, hard to turn down the whole deal in T for the price we're currently paying...!

My views come somewhere in the middle. I agree with startedsaving. My wife was horrified by some of the content, of these so called Tesco Finest meals. I haven't looked, but she said in one of the lemon tarts there is 500 calories in it alone. She won't touch half the stuff. I must admit that the wine is getting a bit silly too. I must have dozens of the bottles now.

One thing to bear in mind is that this offer, will finish next week. Like I said to my wife, they are only a short term thing. Just like when I was getting free after eight mints, robinsons drinks, cereal.

Hopefully the next offer will be a bit more healthy. On a positive note our freezer is packed with the stuff now, and between 5 of us - 14 meals a week - they won't last too long anyway. But I would never buy them. No chance!!

This is the reason I've now stopped taking advantage of this offer (just come back to have a nosey!), after a few days of eating finest food I felt really rubbish and had no desire to eat any more :/ also desperately needed to stop putting on weight! It's really a shame it's not more like the m&s meal deal so we could be getting whole chickens, salad ect! Still, can't complain for £4.07

Anyway, happy meal dealing all! See you on the next tesco thread!
