Best sim only for using texts and a few calls

Anyone got any suggestions for what is the best SIM only deal for loads of texts and the occasional call? Never use the internet on my phone as I don't know how.

At the moment Giffgaff has a cheap goodybag that would suit me but it's 'experimental' apparental and will end soon - I don't know what happens after that.

Giffgaff standard PAYG texts are 4p each no goodybag required .

The £10 Goodybag upwards is unlimited texts .

also - can you buy a new sim only doodah and start using that before you have paid off your previous bill on an another contract? my mobile is normally paid for buy someone else (i know, lucky me!) but he hasn't paid the bill for ages and so i can't make or not receive calls or texts. i am wondering if i can buy a sim for someone else and use that and he can pay off the other bill when he can? i am not in the position to pay it myself at the moment.
