Dixons is knocking on Heaven's Door. The Grim Reaper waits impatiently.
The retailer has already abandoned Spain, closing all of its stores there.
Even here on the home soil of beleaguered Blighty, Dixons is closing more stores per week than most other retailers.
Dixons' whole business model has collapsed. Punters have wised to the warranty swindle. The extended warranty rip-off was the chain's biggest cash cow but even that has dried up.
Once upon a time and Dixons was the darling of the City. But not today. Dixons' share price is in freefall, down 90% on four years ago.
Things have gotten so bad for Dixons that it's a penny stock these days. A punt only for the brave or foolhardy.
As consumers we should think carefully before buying any costly goods from either Dixons or Comet.
If and when they go tits up, who's going to honour the product warranties?

It's not so much becoming full of empty shops as having every shop that does become empty filled with a chicken shack/chicken hut/chicken point/chicken express, hairdresser, charity shop, estate agent or nicky-nacky-noo shop. In our town you can no longer buy: Decorating supplies, Tools, Electronics, Stationery, Electrical components And the only book shop is one that sells remainders. Yet we have 9 charity shops, 10 estate agents a dozen nicky-nacky-noo shops. (We don't seem to have had the invasion of fast food outfits that others have.)
I'm sorry to hear that about Henley on Thames, of all places.
Yet in Wolverhampton, they are seeing definite signs of a High Street revival...
