)
Much appreciated.
Already done the insurance quotes for corsa looks like £3000 :eek:
remember though, buying a car that's classed as group 1 does not mean it will be the cheapest to insure.
a group 3 car could be £500 cheaper to insure (compared to group 1), but its 12 month tax disc might cost £90ish more....:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

whilst it may sound a good deal most of these free insurance cover are for 21yrs old or over and been driving a minimum of 1 year.
i kinda disagree with buying a new driver a new car thats alot of money to lose if he/she prangs it or writes it off.
i believe in buying a car for under £2000, for new drivers, getting the important NCB under the belt and some experience, and putting some money away then to get a better newer car.
if it gets banged or written off theres not much to lose.0 -

That's awfully expensive, where do you live? :eek:
BTW having just bought a 19 year old 106 myself I'm not sure I'd give it to a new driver fresh from an instructor's brand new car given it's lack of power assisted anything0 -
The car with the lowest insurance premium I would say.0

My friend just passed her test, she got a 1992 Nissan Micra (basically for free from my dad) and it costed her just over £700, I made sure she put her mum on as a named driver. I think this is very cheap, she is 21 though.0
