Those prices seem reasonable especially for Essex. Buttonholes/Grooms button hole are but more than I would pay but they are probably quite detailed.
Seems the moment you ad the word "wedding" to anything the prices triple, in my experience.0 -

Found some - ive detailed below:
Above are a few neat gerbera examples. You can make them more domed than round if you have them smaller. Note the black centers - i believe these are Gerbera Ice Queen or Iceberg (cant remember which as i think they both have black centers) for large (std) gerbs or Gerbera Snowy for mini gerbs.
An example of the blue binding (obviously just not with gerbs)
Really stands out against a white bridal dress! You could of course add blue pins, etcScotsbride wrote: »I would love to have Lilly of the valley in my boquet unfortunately I definately can't afford this. I wanted to ask if it was possible to mix fake or silk flowers in a boquet with real. And whether this would look tacky?
Mixing aritficial and real is fine - we have done it before without issue. Unfortunately lily of the valley as you have said is rather expensive and not the easiest to get hold of. Shame as it is very pretty. I know you can get artificial version but sadly they tend to look quite 'plasticky' unlike some other artificials. We did do one for a wedding fair some time ago which was for a few people who we knew wanted to see some very country garden-eque flowers such as sweet peas, lavender (dried), lily of the valley etc:
Hope this gives you a bit of an idea

Here's a list of suggestions my florist sent me:
Sweet William, Anemone, Alstromeria, Aster, Larkspur, spray cars, small gerbera, statice, ivy, Snap dragon, A.Mollis, Cow Parsley.0 -
I know florists have their overheads and are running a buisness and best of luck to you and your company.
I had a budget to work to. I called and emailed approximately 10 florists in Leamington and Coventry.
Cheapest quoted £90 + for my bouquet and cheapest button holes £1.35 for roses.
I was looking for a basic wedding package for smaller weddings. But couldn't get one.
EG: 1 xBrides Bouquet, 1 xGrooms button hole and 25 x guest button holes and have set prices for the package depending on flowers.
£100 Roses
£90 Crysanth's
etc
Extra button holes additional £...
I found it quite flustrating getting prices. All I wanted was a basic package and no one seemed to offer that.
Also personally I prefer the online shops with prices.
All the best :-)
We tend to stay away from 'packages' because you cant put one price on any wedding as eveyone is different.
I have to agree with you though £90 for a rose bouquet is too expensive.
For a hand tie we would charge around £50-£60 dependent on what roses you wanted and if you want diamante pins, etc. Only a few roses would cost more than this like lilac or vintage effect roses.
For a shower bouquet it would be more just because of the time and details that goes into these. These would be around £70 to £80.
We do charge about £5-6 for buttonholes but we do make them look alot better than just tied together as we add varieted greenery and beading/wiring if required. This price would also be for high quality/very lovely looking roses. For a larger quantity and very simple buttonholes then of course we always look to do the best deal for each bride.
I think the shops were definately over quoting you though. Shame we hadn't met prior as we would have loved to have done you a quote
I cant believe £50 for a pure xanth bouquet though - thats disgusting. You could easily have a plain ivory bouquet for that price (maybe a few pounds extra for diamantes in every rose) we generally do a few FOC scattered in every 2-3 roses.
Sounds like you got it all sorted in the end though!

OMG they are gorgeous - Gerberas rule! That is perfect, simple and gorgeous, thanks. If i had chosen a pink , orange or red theme my life would be so much easier.
How much do you reckon for a posy like the white one - could i really do it myself. (my idea of flower arranging is take out of celophane and plonk in vase - done!) I am not creative in any way shape or form.
Thanks again
Edit - dont worry bout price - just looking at your website. thanksJ: SWELL Hair goodies, Cbeebies bag, Years supply of loo rolls. F: theatre tickets, Pedometer, Champagne Glasses, £100 Monsoon Voucher. Price really depends upon what other flowers you have. Ultimately the more you buy the better bulk discount from the wholesalers and the more the costs of flowers, time, petrol, etc can be spread over the different items. Roughly for the Gerbera bouquet if you were having buttonholes, etc would be around £40-£45. If it was just the bouquet and 1 buttonhole per say then it would be a bit more as the 'initial costs' for every wedding would need to be catered for. Remember this is what we would roughly charge to our brides. I cant set a price for your individual florist in your own area which im sure have a separate set of outgoings and circumstances unique to them.
As a professional I wouldn't recommend DIY. For example Gerberas do have fiddly stems which aren't always 100% straight. There is also a level of skill involved in spiraling stems and an eye for the details involved in creating even a simple bouquet. There's also the background knowledge of flowers, how to treat and condition them, etc. Jane had to train for years and years to do what she does - she's been teaching me for some of those years and even i cant claim to be able to do most of the things she can
Best of luck!

Think i am gonna have to be brave and visit some florists to get quotes. I didint budge flowers into the wedding - just didnt think about it. Do u think i could get my bouquet and 3 bridesmaids (maybe half of third of my size bouquet) and 40 button holes for £100? Maybe if i have the bridesmaids and button holes in silk would that bring the costs down?

Not sure if you're having fake/real - but have a look at the flowers sticky thread at the top of the board. There are some really great clips on you tube to help you arrange them.
This is what I'm going for - made with fake gerberas. I've made this one but it isn't complete - I'm not sure whether I'll be using white or ivory ones (I ordered both) - depends on what dress I end up with, and the green loopy bits aren't secured - I'd just popped them into show what sort of thing I'll be adding.0
