In the meantime, Tesco has asked us to advise you that if your purchase hasn’t tracked and you can confirm that you are a genuine customer who has put accurate and true information on your application form, then you must raise a missing cashback claim and they will investigate each claim on an individual basis. If you feel you do not meet these criteria we would advise you to cancel the policy immediately.
Mine hasn't tracked and I've raised a claim on Quidco. But how will this be investigated? Seems like a case of passing the buck and I think its a bit of a joke that I may now have to try and prove that my application was genuine!0 -
Seems to me Tesco were happy to introduce this offer to tempt people to sign up...... but not to honour it when they realised people might actually do as they are entitled to do, and cancel after 6 months.
Then they have the cheek to say they are 'dismayed' !! We are hardly too impressed with you Mr T0 -

I think the reason it was brought to their attention, was because of my 14 Great Aunts, 12 Great Uncles, and my 4 Grandparents all applying for this deal, from their 2 bed terrace in Manchester. :rotfl:
On a serious note. My wife applied with all her correct info. But it isn't down to us to police your bloody offers. I'm getting pretty sick of it to be honest. Quidco, you have cocked up before and I've never used you since (long established members will remember the mess, and lack of honouring payments) and Tesco, you !!!! up every bloody day. Not my problem. Employ people who have the foresight to see these problems coming, not who react to them, which my kids could do just as well.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

Tesco has seen this thread and brought it to our attention. To say the company is dismayed by some of the posts on here is putting it mildly, and they withdrew their offer on Quidco last Friday when they read it.
This has been a very disappointing experience for us and it’s affected customers who were wanting to genuinely take out life insurance cover. It has also damaged our relationship with Tesco, and jeopardised future offers for everyone, including the launch of other general insurance and banking products.
We were particularly alarmed to see advice being given on here to give false personal information on the insurance application form, to keep the premium down until such time as the policy was cancelled once the cashback had been received. There is no insurance provider around who would not take a very serious view of this, especially as insurance application forms have to be signed by the customer to state that true and accurate information has been supplied. Cashback is a reward from merchants, given in good faith, for a purchase of their goods or services - it’s not there to be used fraudulently.

We sincerely apologise to any genuine customers who have been affected by this, and to any of you out there who were looking for life insurance and considering Tesco’s generous offer. It is unfortunate that the actions of a few people have affected the honest majority of customers.
As a cashback provider, we have a duty of care to all of our customers and also to the merchants on our site. Issues like this result in cashback being withdrawn and we have to take this type of situation very seriously.
Thanks - Dominic Head of Customer Care
So just to be clear - are you and/or Tesco paying the cashback/giftcards or not? I took a policy for myself and my husband and these are GENUINE policies - I HAD no intention of cancelling either of them and chose Tesco/Quidco because of these offers. If however. you are now stating that I will not receive the advertised incentives which attracted me to Tesco in the first place, then I may as well cancel it and find a better deal elsewhere? I have already submitted a claim via Quidco, but I have no idea how on earth you are going to establish who is geniune and who is not? I can only assume that you will take my premiums for 3 months and then decide not to pay me the advertised incentives? This is an absolute joke!
PS. Thanks to all those who as usual took advantage and ruined a good thing for those who wanted to use the offer in an honest and geniune manner!!:mad::mad:0 -
Out of interest, has anyone's £50 tracked?0

What, are you serious?
How many applications did you submit? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Not tracked (claim raised!) and I was planning on keeping the policy but if Quidco and Tesco are going to take the !!!! with it then they can both stick it and I won't bother using either of them ever again.
Was planning on keeping it like I did with our confused.com which were £100 cashback and 3 years later the policies are still running but Tesco's one is cheaper with more cover so would have kept it for as long as it was good value but this is starting to leave a VERY sour taste in the mouth - NOT Happy!
Oh and Quidco I didn't see that advice being given out as anything other than flippant tbh and you also failed to mention that a number of people then said that was not a good idea but that doesn't sound as good does it.
PS - Don't forget the ASA now covers website advertising lol0 -

Er .................. 1Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
I was planning on moving MY policy over as well as the wife's but I won't now and when I do move it it'll be via Topcashback and NOT to Tesco0

OHMY!!! Firstly yes, I did see this item through mse.com, and yes I applied. But I have no flipping intention of cancelling. As a mum, who has been nagged at to get her finances in order, I thought this was a good deal. Both for the life insurance - seems reasonable compared to other quotes I have recieved, and also for the tesco cashback - "every little helps"????doesnt it?????
I had thought of putting the gift card towards my son's Christmas presents, but it now seems all so unlikely that this is going to come to fruition.
Shame.
Up until now, Quidco has been a wee extra boost to my online shopping, but this has really put me off using it. I thought they were a genuine company but it seems they will now backtrack at the drop of a hat.:heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpulsPrincesses wear crowns to remind them that they are beautiful and special because some days its easy to forget. :heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpuls0
