In that case (ie your daughter not being the only beneficiary), there is absolutely no good reason to do it.
Apart from the reasons mentioned above (1: re you going into care and 2: the ownership of the money when you die), your daughter would automatically have access to funds for your funeral from you account via the bank, it's what they do all the time. It isn't necessary to make her joint owner of it.0
