Pre pay funerals

Any advice about these? My mother has less than 10k to her name. 5k in an account of my elder sisters & 4k in her current account (which I have a card to). A pre-pay funeral would use up most of the money in her current account (of which she has no further use). Would it be a good idea? Is there anything I should be wary…

In that case (ie your daughter not being the only beneficiary), there is absolutely no good reason to do it.

Apart from the reasons mentioned above (1: re you going into care and 2: the ownership of the money when you die), your daughter would automatically have access to funds for your funeral from you account via the bank, it's what they do all the time. It isn't necessary to make her joint owner of it.
