On a similar note actually I was asked yesterday, is it possible to leave someones bids in place, but block them from placing further bids on same (or any of your other) item?

to claim from RM you will most likely be asks for the packaging. the packaging was wholly inadequate for what it contained. a tin is highly likely to suffer crush damage if not adequately packaged

You're right, you can't see who's likely to buy - but (and only if you got only a few bidders and/or lots of time), you can look at who's bidding on your stuff and block anyone who seems like they might be trouble - I'm talking about the type who, when you look at their feedback given, have a swathe of red, captals and rudeness. Of course, a sniping bidder might come along, and there's nothing you can do about it. I guess I'm just trying to save myself hassle where I can.

Maybe I'm just over careful - also I'm a very small scale personal seller.

Don't get me wrong, I'm exactly the same, avoid the divvys where you can. If someone asks a question, and it's a daft one, or they seem really interested, so you look up their previous feedback left, and it's all red, I'd block them too - have to be honest. I need the money, but not sometimes when it comes with the hassle! Happy ebaying!
