disability tax disc

hi im receiving high rate mobility

i was sent a form with my entitlement which say i can get a free tax disc, what i want to no is how i do this.

i collect my new car tomoz and i have to tax, the chap at dwp just said tcke form, with insurance and new keeper supplement to the post office and they will give me the disc.

is this correct?
do i need to take anything else?

need to know asap

He is exactly right. You will need to go to a "main" post office to get the tax disc for your car - you will also need to take the log book with you as the taxation class will need to be changed to "Disabled" from it's current PLG.

Can the seller not give it to you, under the circumstances? Otherwise you'll have to wait for it to come back from the DVLA, then send it off again to have the taxation class changed. If you take the V5 to the Post Office with you, they'll send it to DVLA on your behalf using their internal system which appears a lot safer than posting the document.

because the car is being collected tomoz, they will only give me the new keeper supplement, as the car is secondhand, as i cant afford a new car

i can re send off but i need to tax the car and get the disc, or i wont have a car.

can they still tax it for me then i send off the v5 for change of class

Try asking them - normal practice is that the seller sends off the duly-completed document but this is an exceptional case - otherwise you'll have to wait up to 6 weeks for the document to come back from the DVLA and then send it off again....

just read if i go with new keeper supplement to dvla office they can do there with that.

so ill have to go there for it

Have you considered Motability?

Have you already received a DLA404 Certificate of Entitlement to DLA? If not you need to apply for one from the DLA peeps and wait for it to arrive before you can get your disabled tax disc.

404 form / certificate needed as above before you can tax the car, not just the bit that came with the dla, this is just to tell you that you can get free tax then you got to send of and get a certificate.
