why would i care?
just heed my advice
if you dont like the current system then do something about it
you have already been told how you can do it all yourself
its been said before that PF charge for doing "FA"
so im sure you wont mind doing it yourself?
if the system changes, dont think it will cost less0 -
I'm having a problem with them now - I had a parcel sent by express service from the states and they have had it since 25th. They have not sent out a letter with my reference code to pay the fees and say if it's gone missing I should contact the depot and collect it.
I have told them this is unacceptable and to please email me the code so I can pay the fee, which someone agreed to do and hasn't. now another person has told me I must collect it with photo ID.
Their service is terrible - I have been dealt with by 4 different people and have been told 4 different things!
Not sure what I can do now other than ask them to return the parcel to customs and pay for delivery by someone else as I can't get to their depot!!

surely you have the tracking number?
so give them the tracking number and ask them to read the customs code from the package
or were you just wanting to rant?
in which case it has nothnig to do with this thread0 -
I have the tracking number and they have told me the fee total, but not how much of that is the handling fee. They have told me I can not pay the fee unless I have the 17 digit reference code which they have failed to supply in the post. I'm in a catch 22 situ talking to monkeys!
The fee is another battle that I'm going to have but at this stage I can't even pay or arrange delivery.
This is not a rant - you may be post count heavy but I would be grateful if you would apply a more friendly tone.0 -

if you want to fight the admin fee then you cant pay online
if you pay online then you would be left with taking legal action on PF0 -

It's not reasonable if you put it as an APR for this loan -
£21.20 interest only payment being £13.50 for a maximum of 20 days.
There isn't a monopoly on customs clearance - the shipper may choose to use DHL, UPS, Fedex, TNT, or one of the smaller firms. They all charge for the job of clearing customs. Surely, it is part of the cost of importing.0 -
So custardy tell us once and for all, is it illegal for us to take our parcels without paying the clearance fee, a simple yes or no will do.0

ah so now what i say is law?
if you want to fight it then thats up to you
if you want to fight the system then thats up to you
however you have been shown that you can do you own customs clearance for free
but im betting you dont want to do that,do you?0 -
If you don't want to have to pay a customs clearance fee. Don't but things from abroad. Simple really.0

Would like some advice on some laptop memory i ordered from the US.
On checking the tracking number supplied from the memory store, it states that the parcel is being held by parcel force as there are charges to pay. The item was $115 so around £70, do you know how much charges i will have to pay on this?
What happens if i refuse to pay the charges and ask for the item to be returned to sender? Or what happens if i pay the charges, then return the item for a refund, will i be refunded on these import, VAT etc charges as the item is now back to the US?0
