biglugs wrote:This looks like a misprice to me - with discount codes you can get this down to £449 delivered for a 40" LCD TV with HD input! Even if it doesn't have digital receiver it's still a great deal.
Shame I bought my Toshiba last week otherwise I would have gone for this.
At a guess I think you are probably better with the Toshiba you ordered. It's not the fact that the TV takes HD input - it's the output that is important. For most people SD output is probably the most important and the review indicates that the upscaling of SD (normal analogue and Freeview) signals are not good on this set.
This seems to be a 'I can't afford any better' or 'I want the cheapest 40" possible' type of buy. The Toshiba is quality!

which has the conclusion...
"Don’t let the lower cost suck you in, this is an LCD TV to avoid."
As a general rule once you get over 32" then plasma tends to be better than LCD for watching films etc. - this is even more true on older models. The newer models of LCD are catching up with plasma now though.0 -
for those who asked;
its resolution is 1366 x 768 - which is a PC resolution XVGA.
This means it will display upto 720p = 1280x720 and downsample anything higher.
720p and 1080i are of similar standard due to the interlacing so people saying they are wanting 1080i are slightly misinformed and should really be wanting 1080p.
but then how many people need and will make full use of 1080p for a few years?0
