How to become assertive and not a push over when its not in your nature?

As the title says I suppose. How do you go from being a push over.. who gives in all the time.. to suddenly standing up to someone, telling them how it is and sticking to your guns?
I feel guilt is a big part of my problem, and feeling sorry for them.. even though it is unneccessary?
I cannot carry on being so soft all the time, something needs to change but I am unsure how.

Get enough sleep ... as if you are well rested you will feel more in control.

Are you a stay at home mum? If not a lot of companies offer courses. You can also buy some good books. look on Amazon and read the reviews and then see if you can get any for free at the library.House saving Targets:

Is it one person you struggle with or do you struggle to say no to anyone?Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

Yes I am a stay at home mum. Sleep I get when I dont have the kids.. the rest of the time I am up various times in the night. But even if I get full nights sleep on my days away it makes no difference to how "harsh" I can be.
Will look into assertiveness courses, though its something ideally I need to change in the next few weeks* Mummy to my 2 gorgeous and amazing boys *0 -
I am quite soft with most people, but one in particular is causing problems because I cannot stand up for myself or say no. It irritates the hell out of me, yet I cannot seem to not do it.* Mummy to my 2 gorgeous and amazing boys *0

Do you want to tell us about it & maybe we can give you some tips?Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
Sounds daft, but practice saying no. Imagine various scenarious and practice how you would generally respond and how you would like to respond. Think about what the other person will say/how they will act and practice what you will say.0

I am happy to explain via pm, but do not want to put any more information on here for just incase it was stumbled across and used against me. The route I am taking at the moment is a route I need to tread carefully with. But if you feel you can help feel free to pm me and I will try and explain it to you* Mummy to my 2 gorgeous and amazing boys *0
