Must admit I was shocked at just how many texts a lot of people send - not just young people!

giffgaff has already been mentioned and I'd like to make a suggestion to the OP (and anyone else with a similar problem).

You should switch your daughter to giffgaff now and get her to persuade her friends move too, with her acting as their referrer i.e. start gathering referrals amongst her friends - before one of them does!

The reason I say this is because one of the BIG benefits of moving to giffgaff is the reward scheme (called Payback) and getting new customers is one of the best ways to earn reward points (each reward point is worth 1p).

Loads of young people have moved to giffgaff because of the free internet, but also because they
have worked out that if they can keep referring others, then their payback points mean they can get a virtually unlimited mobile phone service for only £10 every three months (the required minimum). This is why young people are one of giffgaff's biggest group of referrers.

Obviously check out giffgaff for information because there is a lot you need to know to get the best value for money, but I'd be surprised if there's a better option for the OP's dilemma.

You may have guessed that I am now with giffgaff, but I'm not going to post the link to my personal referral page (not sure that's allowed anyway)! I just wanted to share what I think is a good mobile deal because I was also with Virgin. After years with Virgin mobile, my husband and I moved to giffgaff in January and don't regret it for one minute. We made the move for one reason only - cost. We are not in the habit of switching services to get the best price (sorry Martin:money:), but for us the giffgaff offering is worth the bother. Now I use my mobile without worrying about the cost in the way I used to. On the other hand, for me the worst thing about giffgaff is that it is a SIM only service, so you have to use your own phone and my current phone does what I want it to do, but I can see the appeal for some of upgrading their phone at the end of their contract.

    Choices choices...
    Numpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...
