    SimbaK2K,

I have not had chance to ring the local beekeeper, my DD was involved in a hit and run and, as you can imagine, i have been beside myself.Definately going to ring them today though.

I'm sorry to haer about your daughter. I hope she's ok. You must be/have been frantic with worry.

I have decided to just leave our nest alone, having read the replies saying that they don't sting unless provoked. I know that honey bees are a very important part of the environment, so I wouldn't have had them killed as I would if it was a wasp's nest.

We did have a massive bumble bee in the house yesterday. I rather like them, but my son (in who's bedroom it was) was freaking out, so poor mr bumble was made to feel unwelcome and shoosshhed out of the window!

    Hi Simbak2k,

The beekeeper came round yesterday said they are bumble bees and they are definateley not in our loft, thankfully, they are behind the facias near the guttering. He advised that they will die off in Spt/Oct and after this time i am to fill in the hole that they are entering once they have died off.

    Hi Hootie19,

    Thanks for your kind words.

My daughter has not suffered any serious damage thankfully, she is very bruised and both her knees were cut when she was knocked to the ground. The problem is she has her A levels this week and next and clearly is not in any state to take them, she has one today in fact. I have spoken to her tutor who advised they can give her some assistance in helping her to the hall where the exam is taking place. The thing is i am rather worried as she has been finding it hard to concentrate on anything and cannot get the accident out of her mind, i feel totally useless at the moment and wish i could take all the stress and pain away.

It's a myth that bees are protected. I had a lot of people tell me they were when I had my bee problem, but I looked in to it and they are not legally protected, but they are endangered and many people think they should be protected.

You are correct pendulum, this is exactly what the beekeeper said to me on Wednesday.
