  • Yes that is what I meant. Now 18W produces same light as 80-100W before on full power.

Do you have any connection with this company? All your postings have been plugging the same website.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
  • No!
Other than that of a satisfied customer.

I found it very annoying that there is a myth that low energy bulbs cannot be dimmed and that I needed to replace my switches and light fittings.
Well perhaps the Germans are the only people clever enough to do it and that is why they can get away with their fancy prices.

Whilst searching for energy saving bulbs, I came across a site - whatbulb.co.uk. Seemed to give good information, and also provides a shopping facility with what seemed to be some very good pricing.
    Worth a look.

Try IKEA - they stock quite a range - but odd sizes are about £3 each most places
Anyone know of a cheap supplier for 30W (150W equiv.) and even more, 40W (200W equiv.) energy saving bulbs?

Living in a high-ceilinged house with big rooms, I need lots of light. 20W (100W equiv.) bulbs are only any use in rooms with 2 or 3 bulb fittings.

Replacing these energy guzzlers clearly gives both me and the planet significantly greater savings than those piddling little 9W offerings!

Why isn't the market biassed top-down, rather than bottom up? The suppliers I can find for 40W low energy bulbs want over 45 quid for each one!
