  • Hi again :) Yes I do have my own thread but I haven't posted nearly as much as you. I'm hoping to post a bit more in the new year once my hectic Christmas is over and I can focus a bit better!

    My thread is here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3113754

Are you on holiday now? Hope you get some rest over Christmas.

Yes I am on holiday now, and really enjoying just pottering!
Yesterday I managed to reduce sky bill, do £60 worth of tutoring, and order some free nappy liners via a local nappy voucher scheme. I did the shed dvd but felt like I was dying all day, so I didn't do it today and I am opting for some high impact housework instead!

To do to day - going to split it up into 15 minute tasks as I am quite un motivated!

    - write to sky and complain to try to get out of hd contract.
    - tidy kitchen
    - hoover house
    - dust house
    - mop floors

I am also tutoring later as well. With tutoring money and bits and bobs saved, I have managed to save £3000 in December, but I have just had to put some cash into our joint account as oh hasn't paid in this month for some reason - will check that when he gets in later. So when he has paid in, I will transfer the £500 to savings. I have also transferred £2,200 to savings from my December - January pay. This will be quite tight as we will have £200 to find after the childcare voucher to pay for childcare for Feb. I hope to save another £3000 in total by the end of January.

Off to update totals and harrass oh!

Makes a big difference when there is an extra pair of hands to help with children doesn't it. Hope OH's work picks up, is it due to time of year?

Yes I think so, he has seemed to be busier in the last few days. He had just forgotten to pay into our account - nothing to worry about.

Well I am ttc for another month :(:( nevermind. It will give me the opportunity to loose more weight, take more vitamins and be a bit healthier generally. On the downside, I will have to spend my £15 free from lfilm amazon voucher on ttc stuff :(

I did all the housework tasks yesterday :), and my tutoring. I am just loving being off work and pottering! Today I have done the shred dvd and then started tidying the back bedroom. I really need to make it easier to keep tidy, and stop dumping!

I have printed off the os calendar and transfered all the dates onto it.

Courgette and others with littlies, what else will I need to buy/get hold of during this year for boy who is 16months old now?

    I am thinking
    - clothes
    - bed and bedding
    - bedroom furniture
    - potty, toilet seat and step, washable potty training pants
    - lots of colouring stuff

That list seems really small - I must have missed loads!!

  • I have bought a few bundles for DD off ebay of clothes or keep a look out and stock up on the next size when George online (Asda) have sale, sometimes sell it on when DD grown out of it on ebay for the same money I paid for it.

Toilet seat/stool/cheap potty - think I got it from a supermarket. Really cheap.

Craft stuff - washable paints, cheap sponges and paint brushes. Printed off pictures online.

Also borrow alot of books from library... our local surestart centre run really good messy play sessions, with playdough, sand.

Also I went to a few toddler groups with DD, some of them were a nightmare so the few people that spoke to me and seemed normal ;) we swapped numbers and we meet up. Go to the park/round each others houses instead of having to endure the rest of the mums that ignore u!

We managed to get a bed for DD from IKEA in the sale for about £20. think the mattress ended up costing more.

I also tend to stock up on kids birthday cards when they're 10 for £1 and little presents when reduced. DD gets invited to so many parties!

Sorry if I've waffled on :o
