The chav is socially irresponsible because they make a negligible (if that) contribution to society.

And through choice, as opposed to those with disabilities etc. Back to the moral argument regarding deserving or not.

Bring back the undeserving and deserving poor idea. With associated rewards. It could improve the whole of society no end.

unless you are considered undeserving and poor of course. plus we don't have australia to ship them to these days.

I think a "wrath" of problems is a collective noun for a group of angry disadvantaged people on a sink estate.

Well yes. Sink estate or anywhere, really!

Defines collective retribution and anger. Can easily be seen on some of the other social / welfare threads where a suggestion for change is put forward. Put into practice, could easily be seen up and down the land.

It's also a place in Scotland.

They are not chavs, they are taxpaying artistes.

If you fall into the undeserving poor category, it would be a wake up call to pull your finger out and do something about it. (That does not include popping out three or four kids from five or six possible fathers).

Please tell me you haven't got a straight face whilst posting that.

I, like you, am a bit of a (Champagne) socialist. However, I don't consider myself 'right-on' or 'with-it' so quoting Nietzsche, Adorno et al. whilst using Dappy from N'Dubz as a shining beacon of chavdom seems ironic to say the least.
  • basically, if i think you are deserving you are, and if i don't you aren't. simple.

as i said, and as someone else said - what is the point of nice new developments when the council insist on housing feral scum on it?

i am on a very nice development and there are a few of these houses devoted to giving scum somewhere to live. in the 6 years i have been there, we have had the police over 3 times and each time it is to the scum block. funny that.

i know the council like to extort funds from decent businesses - but still, put it in a fund and when you have enough, build a scum estate in the furtherst dank horrible part of town. don't insist on giving every new estate cancer before they are finished. once this insidious filth move in, the place is ruined.

they don't bring the place up and learn from the decent people. they bring the place down to their filthy ignorant chav level.

Its the only fair way - you can't go turfing people out of their homes after 30 years just to free it up - its simply immoral.

Not if they are given a decent but smaller alternative, I think.
