Telewest - Please Advise. Need Help

This is the 1st time I'm posting anything. My apologies if this isn't the forum to raise a request for help.

I have a telewest broadband connection with a 1 year contract. 4 months into the contract and my broadband stopped working in Nov 2nd week. I logged a complain with Telewest and 5 days later a engineer turned up saying there is problem with the cabling which comes from outside the building and this will addressed by some other engineers. They turned up after 10 days and said there is some network problem. Post that , after few calls I am now told that a new cable would be laid to my property. This time the customer service does not know when that will happen.

I have lost over 23 days without broadband and Telewest will not bill me for the days they have not provided me with the service. While I appreciate this they only apologise for me being unable to work from home. I have asked them to let me exit the contract since I cannot wait forever. This they say is not possible since the contract is binding. I think this is unfair. So did the customer service but said they can't do anything.

Can anyone please advise if I can get out of this contract.

They may offer to refund charges if you go through to customer services and tell them of your situation that you work from home and ask for some compensation, they are service providers that did not provide the specified service. How much longer has your contract got to go and how much will you have to pay to cancel?
