I'm in and ooh Nev you look like your sis (who I'm friends with on facebook)
Thanks to all those in Central command
will be back Thursday for a blitz though I have a little unironed stuff to iron. I have NOT though washed anything that was put in the laundry basket Sat or today. So get your earplugs ready - chances are DS has not much clean for school and I know I haven't washed DD's PE kit because she never took it out of her PE bag. Lesson learned? We'll see.
BIL is trying to persuade me to do a money saving blog. This is partly because I am now e baying their carp and sending them the dosh, less a little bit for my trouble. Kitchen fund is looking healthy though - I have saved enough for 1 appliance so far
in fact - it's the weekend I'll share. I'm planning on having non-integrated appliances. I have a washer and TD already but will need a new vent kit for the TD. And a hole.
I need an oven, fridge, freezer and dishwasher (all to go under worktops) So I'm budgetting £1600 for them (that will be over budget I hope) and a hob and extractor (say another £300 so we can assume a cool £2K for appliances)
Then I would hope to get the units for another £2K (small kitchen). £1K for worktops and contingencies (ie rewiring/socket moving) although, at this point in time this is all guesswork on the prices. Someone is coming to give me a ball park figure, I hope, just as a savings target.
Then I'll need new pots (mine are not dishwasher proof and are carp anyway - I'm pondering going 'local' with Denby.

so my budget's credible then Piggers? in fact - I just realised there's no flooring or tiling in there. I haven't even got room for a double range cooker. Oh and I haven't budgetted for heating. I have an under unit thing in there atm but that broke, too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Hi Everyone
I have been MIA for such a long time I know ... but life (or lack of) got in the way ... it's been far too hectic, my spoon count is zero but I am moving tomorrow   so thought I would say 'Hi/Bye' because it will probably be ages before I get back on here again .. lack of internet won't help
So love & hugs to all ... I'm sure Jinks, FFP or Sexy will keep you updated on my progress
Special love as always for toots

Hi Lady Liberty
Hope the move isn't too stressful for you and you'll be in my thoughts - wishing you peace and joy in your new home...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Go for underfloor heating if you're having the floor done. Electric mat stuff is pretty cheap to run and it means you don't have to give up wall space. Buy remember it will need underlay, and flooring on top, so may end up higher than your other floors... I wish I'd had it done, but what with moving the gas supply and door, and taking down the ceiling, I couldn't afford it at the time
As I'll be at home most of the week after next, I need to spend this week ringing round and arranging for people to come and quote for all the jobs that need doing here, so I can start budgeting. So, bathroom, upstairs floors, living room floor, finish utility room, decorating everything and dealing with the rest of the garden landscaping. Oh... And booking the tree surgeon for the autumn...0 -

I don't see why not.. shop around and see what deal you can find... paying 'cash' often has a bonus too
My tile I can't afford yet are £400.. 6m2 of tiles.. I've been waiting to be able to justify the money for 5 years!
I must get the girls room done next.. which I can once the gutter i done (Thursday we hope!!!) then I need windows in DD2's room, the boys room and the bay replacing in the backroom.. I aim to have all the windows double glazed by the winter of 2013 so 2.5 years to replace 5 bedroom windows, bathroom and loo and the back room bay.. and I am looking for a decent joiner to make me a replacement front door exactly the same as the original!
Underfloor heating is really eays to fit yourself and you can have it connected to your central heating or up to your electrics.. we fitted ours and had electrician wire it in.. was £80 I am looking at getting the mat one for my back room.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Having been Awol for too long I am back - at least for the next 2 weeks! Having been made redundant I have a few weeks off with holiday owed. However I have just been offered a new job - which will mean commuting into London - and have just over 2 weeks to get my house in order. I daren't post the list of things to do as it will frighten me just looking at it, but will endeavour to make sure the daily list is done and will post my progress here.0
