I thought so! People who work for postal services that undertake the *delivery* do this every day - they know where places are, most of them are not stupid about this stuff. Definitely didn't have time to get to Aus and back to you, though (UK to Aus is typically 6 days), so the US postal service must have picked it up.
People are often quick to say 'it will never get to you', but I have to say that it's not my experience when I make mistakes on post and parcels!
