Seller wrote the wrong country on parcel?

Hi I bought something off someone in the US on Etsy in the week, when she went to post the parcel her PO told her South Wales is in Australia not the UK so she changed the country on the address label. She has offered a refund on returning home and realising, but I wondered is there any chance it will get to me eventually as it has the correct postcode on it or should I just accept the refund?

Many thanks

It won't get to you. Accept the refund.

Accept the refund but tell her you will contact her in the event of it making its way to you (it will take a while to come if it does, I don't know if you will still want it).

A couple of years ago I was working in Mauritania (West Africa), and someone sent me a package via DHL but had put the country as Mauritius.

It did eventually reach me 4 months after it left the UK and it had traveled to Mauritius, back to the UK, then to Mauritania.
I know this was with a courier and not a mail service, but you never know, you may just get it one day.

Thanks all, I was holding on to a slim hope it would arrive as the item is difficult to find and I had it for a bargain price.

You'd think that they'd have enough common sense to think that someone buying something would know which country they lived in better than some random in a post office!?!

I remember a school bus coming back from a trip in France (grammar school kids), and dropping the kids off in a town 140 miles away at 10pm, as they'd selected the wrong town on the sat nav which had a slightly different spelling!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

When I was a student in a Yorkshire town, I was stopped by a lorry driver asking where the castle was. I told him there wasn;t one. He insited there was, until it dawned on me that he was afer Leeds Castle, in Kent, about 250 miles away  :rotfl:

Slightly odd version of your address really as the normal format is town, postcode, UK - no mention of South Wales. New South Wales is in Australia of course. Americans are not too strong on geography even though they are trying to increase their knowledge by invading foreign countries.

Why would you write "south wales" in your address?

I realise it's another trolling post from you, but maybe it was because they live in South Wales ?

Maybe the place they live has another variant in North Wales ?

Even if you live in South Wales, you don't have to write it on your address. Any confusion coming from similar place names is superseded by these things called "postcodes".
