Pay £10 at Paypoint to get 1kg of Dog meal

A dog can easily go a day without food! Back in the old days it was considered normal to fast your dog one day a week, and in the wild dogs will often eat a large meal then none for a day or two. So unless your dog has a medical problem, is a puppy or will eat your furniture instead it will have come to no harm waiting until the next day to get your chosen food.0

thank you so much mistral.I am glad someone has finally understood my dilemma at the time. The only so called "human food" she can tolerate thus far(still working on it)is boiled green beans, carrots or peas.Any thing else then she either vomits or it disturbs the other end.I was advised by the vet to give her chappie dog food which is hard to get but i have managed to get it from Tescos in 6 packs when i do my online shopping. This has been very successful.I have also found this other food(dry)from Tescos as well which seems to agree with her very well.So as you can understand i did find myself in a tricky situation at the time.I dont mind buying an extra collar and lead or having to spend the money on her but i cant afford to be withdrawing tenners as this takes too much of a toll on the old bank balance.£5 is sufficiant as far as im concerned.Btw another thing i havent mentioned to the very helpful people on here is that im agoraphobic and it is a real big thing for me to get supplies.Thats why i depend on online shopping.I suppose if i had been more familiar with the way these shops operate i wuld have probably lifted a tenner before going into the shop but i was taken quite unaware of the £10 spend.I sort of panicked as it took a lot to actually go to the shop in the first place. Thanks again for your understanding of the situation which happened ages ago but this thread has popped up again so i felt as a matter of courtesy i should reply to those who took the time to voice their opinions. Thanks to all.Perhaps if they read from the start of the thread they will see how it has progressed.Mistral001 wrote: »I think I see what this thread is about now. The OP actually paid £10 for the £1.50 dog food as the card was the only way she could pay for it.
So it was a choice between paying the extra or returning empty-handed to a hungry dog. I have a dog and I must admit I would not want to criticise the OP - those sad eyes can be very very persuasive
Have you tried just ordinary food and not necessarily dog food? Often it is cheaper and they really love it. I also think it is healthier for them - but the dog food manufacturers (and some vets who promote it in their surgeries) would disagree with me on that one. I mix a little bit of what I eat in with the regular dog food and he loves it (most of it anyway). I think the variety is healthy.0 -

mistral it happens in supermarkets.I suppose its just the way the world is going these days.I remember before cards it was filling in cheques which took a lot longer in a supermarket queue.ohh i remember the days...what a nightmare that was.:(Mistral001 wrote: »I think it is rediculous to use a card to pay for something costing £1.50. you are right hazy i am not a regular customer as such but over the past 30 years i have bought from this shop, items like dog beds, dog coats, collars, leads toys etc.which arent regular purchases but still bought from this shop.I wouldnt want anyone to lose sleep over my not buying dog food.I am sure though that there are many regular customers who feel a bit miffed about the shops spend amount policy. Its just a bit inconvenient for some customers like myself thats all.Jeffer I usually get my dog food online but they didnt have any and i needed it.
They have lost me as a customer because of it so not good for their business.
According to your above post you are not a regular customer anyway, so I doubt the pet shop owner will be losing sleep.0 -
They have different charges depending on when i choose to have my order delivered..They also have the dog food i need.I place an order once a month and i pay it online.Thats why i need to have money in my account.Customers can also gain club card points which can help towards the delivery charge in a roundabout way.It also beats having to pay for a taxi to carry it all home. But as previously stated I have agoraphobia so its a small price to pay(approx.£3-£3.50 per month per delivery. You do realise Tesco is charging you an extra £6 for delivery when you buy on-line?0
