Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 14th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning

DD decided 4am was the time she wanted to wake  I've not had a decent night sleep all week :( If it wasn't me coughing it's bloomin' pesky kids. So am in a grump ATM if you'll forgive me :o

Popping to Aldi this morning for some shopping, splitting it between there and MrS (but not all on the same day, not that keen) and then shall probably spend the rest of the day [STRIKE]doing b*gger all[/STRIKE] pottering about. H has to pop into work so will be stuck at home entertaining the kids.

Not sure about tea tonight, will aim for pizza for the kids I think.

Hugs and spoons, have a great day OS or not.

Morning Bitsy & all who follow
Hubby working at school today but doesn't need to be there until 8:15, I've taken him a cuppa & will make him breakfast in a while.
WM is on with the 2nd load, 1st load is on the line.
Once I get back from dropping hubby off I shall cut out the dress I'm getting married in, the table's been cleared, cleaned & extended so it's all ready to go.
    Have a good day everyone

    Morning everyone!

Got a batch of muffins in the oven, got an early morning appointment at hairdresser (8.00a.m.), going shopping as I didn't bother yesterday :o, taking some stuff back to M&S and then pottering around the house as we're out tonight, and overnight, with friends who live about 40 miles away. :j HOPING to avoid ESC if at all possible.

The sun is shining but rain is forecast but I don't care, it's the weekend and this time next week we will be up north for a wee while, so it's countdown time.

I hope that everyone has a good day even if they (BB) are in a grump, it'll wear off soon.

Bargainbird - OK my morning started too early but least I didn't have to deal with anything like that :eek: Has pooch got a rubbishy tum? Not sure what breed of dog but my mum's labs were a PITA for eating stuff they'd find.

    Morning all.

HH Happy cutting out. I'm sure we all can't wait to see the pics of you on your big day!
BB_pale_ What an early morning greeting. Yeuch!!
Will have to get to allotment at some stage and to the park depending on rain.
Have been scrubbing the white garden furniture, just need to do the chairs, so that is another job for today.

Set my alarm for 5.30 to nip to Asda for a few 'essential' bits for this weekend . Of course alarm didn't go off, so I didn't get anywhere except local shop for milk and juice. Ah well, just shows how 'essential' they were, as I now have to do without them!
Dinner will be spag bol which didn't get eaten yday cos of my friend's dinner gift. Pancakes for brekkie.

bitsy - hope you get chancee to snooze later.

the plan is to get ds' feet measured and some doodles :j his feet havent grown since september  he needs new shoes regardless. thats the most excitement i'm etting today.

i need to wash ds' bedding that i took off yesterday. looks like its going to be a nice day so will dry quickly. everything else is fairly sorted

ds' bottom was so sore last night. he gets a patch off excema on his bum cheek which he has cream for. he woke up about 5ish crying. changed his nappy and it was weeping :(it has spread across his bits and on to the other cheek. so now he is asleep on a couple of towels and no nappy and his bum up inthe air :rotfl: if its still that bad will pop him into the walk in clinic for something stronger. he was walking like john wayne last night :(

thats about it here. have a good day

    Good morning folks,
A beautiful bright morning here today although rain is forecast for later.

BB your table looks fab. Sorry to hear about your morning greeting.

Bitsy and everyone else with littlies who wake early, hugs and hope you can get some peace later. When they are teenagers they will probably sleep in - my baby (21) does x x

Having a lazy start to the day. I love Saturdays :) DGSs will be here in 20 mins and then there will be less peace, bless them.

Dinner today will be chicken breast in a breadcrumb and parmesan crust for the boys and mozzarella stuffed chicken breast wrapped in pancetta for the adults, with hg salad, potato wedges and gratinated potatoes.

Happy Saturday peeps. Hugs for those who need or want.
    Cheers m'dears, Silver x

    Morning all.

Spent yesterday clearing DW Granddad's house as they are selling it now they need the care of a home now.:(

Sad to see what is left of a life being the contents of a skip.

I was amazed to see the number of skip surfers though. I would say about 1/3 of the contents went during the day. Good for them I say, great way to recycle things.

Today doing 'good deeds' for another old couple with the use of my van. I know they appreciate it so it worth my time just for that.
