Looking at their website, they are unlikely to pay more than about £180 (optimistic figure) for buying you out.

They can buy you out, yes, and the amount they can manage varies a lot. They can give cash up front on the deal, and cash to trade your phone back in. Your problem might be that they can rarely do very much cash back on deals under £30-35 per month...

    Hi Lucy may,

I am sorry to hear that you are having some problems with your current phone.

Do you know how long you have left on your contract as you may be able to do an early upgrade to get a new phone?

I would certainly like to help, if you could drop me an email from the address shown here then we can discuss the issues you are having.

    Many thanks,

Phones for you do give u cash back but in my past experiencing to get the cash back they will put you on one of the higher traffifs. it also has to be less then a year!

I have had phones 4 u buy out my contract a few times, one i got it my bank account and once i got it on a pre paid credit card, If u go in there, dont let them over sell you stuff, because once your in there they wont let you leave till you have more then you need!
  • Hi Lucy

I use to work for P4U and would suggest avoiding them if possible.

but if your going to use them let me at least help you.

Ok the BB carries a very low banding for them so you wont get much cash back.

1st go on ebay and find ANY old N-Range phone... N70, N73(you can get 1 for about £10) as long as it turns on your fine.... They MUST trade in your N range phone for £100 as long as your contract meets a level... Normally £25pm on 24th deals or £30 on 18mth.

2nd At the very start of sale say....you need to

tell them your buy out is a little more, So if you need £100 tell them £125

say no to the insurance at the start and when they come back to it later ask if they can offer more cash if you take it.

    Trust me they can.

you can then cancel this a few hrs later.

dont push for any freebie they will have blitzed most of there offers on you by this point.

Do all of this and you should walk out with your phone and about £200 maybe more.... Most I gave away was £350

Are you sure you're suppposed to be giving out this information as it is quite confidential to the company itself, you may be advising the customer on untruths as the companies methods for cashback change requently.

Im not sure if its true or not but somebody told me phone 4 u have £300 per to play with per customer, and what ever they dont use out of that £300 is commission is that true?
  • 4 years back one sales man canvassed me saying only 10 pounds per month for a contract phone, I dont have to send any bills or back to get money back, no contract. Upto first 3 months I got bills for 10 pound per month, after that they started sending 35 pounds bill. I called phones 4 you head office they are asking why you not sending the previous bills to us, I replied I can then they told me you need to send back the first bill within 60 days other wise wont get any thing back. Then asked them for cancelling the contract-- They replied it is an 18 month contract. I told how come as you promised monthly contract? they told me to look on the far below of the contract it says 18 m on small letters where people can't notice this. Really bad people

I don't think that can be a general rule, there's no way that would work when contracts start at below £15 a month.

What you may have seen is an offer they do periodically where taking a higher monthly fee (£40 up) over 24months with a very low end or discontinued handset (think of the 1p pay and go phones) gives you up to £350 cash back.

As a current manager within P4U this information is partly true, however most of it is very inaccurate, there is very little discount available on the Torch as well as other high end handsets such as HTC Desire S/HD, IP4, Samsung Galaxy S II, SE Xperia as they all carry very little profit so all have have similar rules, the N series trade in doesn't apply to any of these handsets and your trade in will be worth a similar amount to what its worth on Mazuma.

If you are going in, be honest, the sales person will appreciate it if you set out what you need and they won't waste your time.

If you tell them you want a BB Torch @ £25 per month and need £150+ in cashback it will be a very short and simple conversation - its not possible.

Be realistic, if the phone has an RRP of £400+ and the tariff is £25 per month then that will only bring in £600 of turnover, minus the £400 for the phone and its £200 after all the outgoings there isn't £150 left on the deal never mind enough to give you that much.

    Hope this helps!
