I'm not getting into this richie, I'm 100% sure you understand the concepts of direct and indirect discrimination.
Try and focus, and try to stay on subject. In relation to the Elland Rd football ground issue, how would that act work daska ?Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. I am completely ignorant of DLA and disability issues, and only read the thread because it mentioned Leeds and football. Can anyone answer this for me? Is the DLA not intended to cover extra costs to help a disabled person to do things they wouldn't otherwise be able to do e.g. football matches, and therefore be intended for things like paying for a carer's ticket?
Sorry if I'm worng, and happy to be corrected.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

my dla is for mobility and it doesnt mention footballl, or shopping at asda. it is to get around. i cannot do steps. My dla covers the use of my mobility vehicle .
perhaps you expect me to drive my car onto the side of the pitch.
yes you are completely ignorant but at least you admit to it lol0 -

No need to be so snotty - it was a genuine question, and when I said ignorant, I meant of the facts, not generally ignorant.
I thought "mobility" meant generally getting around, whether it be to the shops or to the football, to cover the additional costs associated with being disabled, such as increased costs, say, at the football, because you're disabled.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

Your post indeed did not deserve such an arsey reply."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -

the dla is indeed for covering costs in getting around, instead of blowiing it all on taxi fares i choose to have a mobility car. it has nothing to do with increased costs to go to a football match0

Just jumping into the argument after being pointed here. Football Clubs are covered by what is know as a SAG (Safety Action Group). One this group is the club, the Police, Ambulance, Fire, Licensing, Local Authority depts with an interest and any group that would in the event of a problem have to respond to the ground.
This group alone decides the policy of where disabled are located. They may locate them in a certain area subject to the ground, age, access, construction of the location etc. In the case of Middlesbrough or Doncaster, they have a new ground, therefore have had access rights sorted and would be ground graded for certain probable events. i.e, stand fire. So the SAG decide where disabled people sit as a group as part of their policy for evacuation of all supporters and that includes the disabled, or those unable to evacuate themselves.
As for clubs allowing anyone in for free as a carer or additional accompanying, yes, it is set as part of the club's boards policy. The abuse at some clubs by the accompanying "carers" entry policy, such as any reasonable adult trying to pass a young child off as a carer usually dictates the evolving policy. One year open, once detected abuse, closed the following seasons.
I speak as a director of a lower league club who comes across these problems in its day to day life.0 -
You're not being discriminated against. Your disability needs are being adequately met. The problem arises because you also want to take your child with you, which has nothing to do with disability.
As I understand it, Elland Road has a family area too, have you asked if you could all go there instead of the disabled area? I'd imagine that they have procedures in place for safely evacuating that area too, and it would meet your family needs.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
