    Hi all.

I share a team NHS email address in work. The current offer is set up to try and restrict one offer per employee. I spoke to the IT guys today and they aware that this may cause problems for many of us. They told me they were 'negotiating' the options with M$

;) You don't have to actually work for them to get this offer as long as you are employed by them and have an NHS email address!!!
Your really can not beat a good bargain !!!
  • Can all those of you who do work for the NHS, and in particular, those who might decide to attempt to abuse the offer, please spare a thought for those of us who do not work for the NHS, but pay taxes and therefore both your wages and the cost of this "offer". FREEBIE this is NOT. The people of this country are paying for it and to be quite honest, i'm disgusted. Whilst I appreciate that NHS employees perform a vital, neccesary function in our society, there is no reason why they should receive such incentives over and above the vast majority of the public who work in the private sector (often, might I add, for far less financial reward).

Those of you who can benefit, good luck to you, but i'm sure there is a more specific forum provided by the NHS (again, at the taxpayer's expense) where such an offer may be more suitably publicised.

I very much agree that no-one should attempt to abuse the offer, because it is ripping off all the taxpayers and leaving less money for patient care.
But I think it's great that the offer is being made to NHS staff. I used to be one myself and lots of my good mates still work for it, doing responsible jobs for the kind of money that a lot of people wouldn't even turn over in bed for. I'm going to let them all know about the offer.:)

  • the offer isnt subsidised by the nhs, it is subsidised by microsoft. it is an incentive offered by mr gates to ensure that the nhs continues to utilise microsoft based pc's. the offer itself costs 18 quid, so it aint free. you would be better off with one of the more stable free office programs like staroffice... posted elsewhere on this site by mr moneysaving himself.
and all those that see no one should abuse the offer... well i say PAH! to you, you're just jealous. Besides us nurses, support workers and admin staff don't get the pay we deserve. i could get paid more working at tesco than i do as a nurse... is that fair? think about that the next time you go to hospital...

private sector paying less than public sector? PAH! again... we nurses do not get performance related bonuses! we have to work nights, weekends, public holidays AND Christmas... we deserve any little perk we are entitled to and to do with those perks as we wish, within the parameters of legality.

Now im off to find the vent board.... tut.
PS. Did you know that NHS staff can sign up for a MAKRO card... hehe... more savings there!! haha.
