Good Morning All
:hello: and welcome Love a Bargain like the name as I do too, and so did my Mum.
Well it has been raining here since we woke up, and looks like a showery day. Need some drinks for the bit of a party we are having tomorrow night, as we are celebrating 100 rallies, so will do that today, as it looks like it should be a little better tomorrow.
Slept well, but did wake up with an headache, could be the LC kicking in, so took some painkillers and I am fine now. Scrambled Egg with some ham and a little grated cheese for breaky. Do like a cooked brekky when on this, but DH isn't a bacon fan, and would reek the caravan out I would have done some on the BBQ outside but it was raining heavily at the time, though it seems to have eased off now and the sun is trying to break through but more grey than blue in the sky.
Want to go up to High Force tomorrow and will maybe call in a Barnard Castle too. Hope to get to Durham some time next week, as we have lovely memories of a visit there years ago, and going up onto the Cathedral Roof - great view. Any other ideas would be welcome.
Lou - go for it girl.

Good Morning All!
DS didn't know for certain if able to get bed in unit until late last evening, but he did, so I am happier that he is being cared for for a few days at least. We are away again for this w/e so will be in more settled frame of mind. Washing on ,line drying nicely. Thought our beans had recovered from the frost last week - turns out our friend had taken them out and replaced the plants while we were away!! What a kind man. So, not a miracle after all!!!
have spent some time sorting loft stuff again, and reached my school days pile - fatal as had to start reading...! At least nothing is in loft still, so men will be able to lay insulation on Monday - I just need to crack on with the boxes now in two of our bedrooms...
Miecherox - do be sure to not overdo things - moving really is exhausting! (haven't done it for nearly 28 years because I still have nightmares over it!)
Oh well, must get back to the sorting, and then think about clothes for this w/e...
have a great day, despite the date! For us, 13 has always been a good number, so doesn't worry me at all. Take care of yourselves.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
Hi everyone,
Nothing much happening, not been out all week really,so not been spending, and when I did go out I returned something! Also its a bit cool + windy so that deters me.Seems to start off nice at the mo,then go off mid morning. Its just started raining now.
I have a courgette flower in one of the pots in the conservatory if we're talking veg
.I need some more compost for another tub outside.I got one of the living salads this week as last year I split all the bits up and replanted them-they went on for ages and grew miles bigger so I'll try that again( cheating I know)
Just had a vacuum pack Tuscan bean salad mix (reduced a lot in Mr.S,think the pack was a bit bashed)mixed red onion, cucumber, lemon juice and olive oil,s&p,and added some feta cheese. So far I've had it for 3 lunches, and to accompany 1 tea, very frugal :j
Made 2 of the cuddly tag comfort blankies yesterday, but got all the ribbons cut out for the others so it doesn't take long when you get going.First bit of sewing I've done for ages.I fancy going to the library later if DS2 will pick me up,but its miserable out,so the sewing room may tempt me more.
Hope everyone is ok.
Reverbe- I'm really sorry to hear about your D Grandfather,I hope you managed to have a personal time to remember him (((Hugs))):heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

. my broad beans are getting too big for the pots they are in. do you think i could get away with putting them in grow bags?
my peppers are growing just very slowly. i have some carrots seeds that i havent planted and the pack says that i have til july. seems a bit late to me :undecided but what do i know. i have an old tin bath that is filled with compost and weeds so may try planting them in there.
I quite like cemetries and church yards, the older the better. I find it fascinating reading the headstones (albeit sad when I come across those who were too young).
With regards to the broad beans......do they climb poles? I have given up with grow bags as I don't find they are deep enough to give any support. Can you plant the beans in the tin bath? Or in a patch of garden?? Sowing the carrots in July means you'll have a later crop but then stuff like carrots, spring onions, lettuce etc you can sow every few weeks to have a regular supply.HoneyBee83 wrote: »*Have an appointment at the bank to discuss my savings, really trying to double my ISA by christmas.
I have set up a flexi account at Nationwide Building Society as they have an online ISA (or e ISA as she called it) that's paying 3% interest
It's a higher rate than any of them in the branch. You can only pay into it or withdraw via this current account as a feeder account. Might be worth looking into if you can't find anything else with a better rate of interest (with easy access).
Afternoon my lovelies
Tired today, kids slept OK but I didn't, started with coughing fit, had to let the cat back in at 1am so flagging a bit at the mo. Anyway will give myself a push and keep going anyway.
Going to make some twinks and prep veg for kids tea tonight.
H working late so have invited myself round to my mums and dads for tea under the guise of them having a Grandchildren fix
:rotfl:
Miech - Good luck with your move
rage - I have an absolute load of stuff I want to ebay BUT it's so time consuming it's putting me off doing it. Unfortunately though some of the stuff is seasonal like summer dresses so stand a better chance of selling them now. think I might make it a priority this weekens - typical as I just missed the free weekend listing
Beemuzed - hugs re your DS2, hope he can get stabilized as an inpatient xx
sorry if I've forgotten or missed anything
Hugs and spoons. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Good Morning and a beautiful morning it is as well.just looking out of my window and seeing the River medway gleaming in the distance brightens up my day .(sad or what)
I don't post on the daily, but I do lurk and read sometimes when I get a minute. I love it whenever you mention your river - it has a way of brightening my day too. Sort of 'joy by proxy', which is probably really sad

Afternoon all.
Been MIA for a couple of days as I have just had so much to do, I haven't had time to sit down til Apprentice time tues and wed!
Had some PC stuff to do this afternoon, so popping in to say Hi!
Talking of gardens, I was wondering too if broad beans will climb..... anyone know?
I have loads of baby raspberries and strawberries this year. Early, but welcome. Got all the spuds planted at long last on the allotment. Stuck a few in the garden, just because! Planted my broad beans out too and a couple of courgette plants.
Spent hour the other night delousing the kids!!!! Bought one of those nitty gritty combs eventually. Cost a tenner, but even gets out the eggs and has a lifetime guarantee. It's great. Well, if you like doing that sort of thing!
Dinner is spag bol for the kids and I, and lamb, courgette and chick pea stew in SC for dh tomorrow.
Have a good day all.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...
