Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Fri 13th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Friday already, where does the time go?
BB I hope your children sleep in a bit later today.
Hubby is working on Saturday so I'm going to cut out the dress I'm wearing for my wedding, I also need to make 2 sashes & 3 hairbands out of the same fabric for the DGD's & DFGD.
Packup's made, ham & egg sarnies with salad. Tea tonight is lamb chops with mash & CABBAGE FROM THE GARDEN, sorry I shouted, but I'n so excited, lol.
I best grab a shower before I go to work.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all to follow,
HH how exciting to be eating cabbage from the garden. We've just got salad leaves and perpetual spinach at the moment. Hoping to be eating our first cucmber on Monday though. Great about your cabbage
Blue skies and sun here, but a bit fresher and the forecast for the weekend doesn't look too good for line drying.
Dinner will be something from the freezer.
Need to go shower and get ready for work - what an exciting life.
Happy Friday folks. Hugs for those who need or want.
Cheers m'dears, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Morning Hester and Silver,
Hester I am craving cabbage at the moment, any kind served anyway and you must be very proud it's home grown so i'll share your excitement!!!
(sadly I'm also craving chocolate and cheese so it's not altogether very healthy!)
Moving day today!! Still not everything is packed but the large items are going in a hire van today, everyone is helping us where they can, OH's lovely mum is collecting the children for us and taking them to hers for tea so I can have more time to at least sort their rooms out. OH's dad is helping shift furniture and I will be packing up any remaining small bits and unpacking the other end.
Tomorrow I will get this place (rental) all cleaned and shiny while lovely mum and sis in law paint the bedrooms back (at landlords insistence). OH has to work all weekend (Excellent timing!!)
Anyway I probably won't be around a few days so keep well everyone

Good Morning and a beautiful morning it is as well.just looking out of my window and seeing the River Medway gleaming in the distance brightens up my day .(sad or what) Sunshine always cheers me up even though I rarely sit in it.
Well I did a second coat on the biggest wall yesterday and it looks 100% better, sot I shall do the next wall at some point today.I have the school run this morning then a little bit of baking to do then at 12.30 I have to meet an old friend whom I used to work with 47 years ago.He sent me an email on Friends Reunited and I was so suprised as I thought he was probaberly dead by now.But no I am meeting him and his wife for a drink at lunchtime. It won't be a very long catch-up as I have a history class at 2.00 but it will be nice to see them both even for an hour or so.it turns out they only live about 10 miles away so we are meeting half way between.
I will have another NSD today as I am still working my way through the store cupboard. Not been near a shop hardly at all this month.Every time I think I may I think of another thing to do indoors which keeps me busy.
Hope every one has a good day and <<hugs for those in need>.
I'm off for breakfast and a shower now as I have the school run this morning
Cheers chums JackieO xx0 -

Nice day here again, I am off to work, so quick tidy through this morning.
Dinner tonight is fahitas, quorn ones for dd, no exams today, then they start next week  for 2 weeks solid, so study all weekend here.
Will do a wash tonight and get it on the airer, get a head start on the weekend washing.
Ok better dash, have good days all xx0 -
Good Morning all
Hester - enjoy your CABBAGE
Been mia last couple of days - don't know where the time goes. We have our work party tomorrow, someone is leaving, someone is returning and someone has a birthday. So today I shall mainly be shopping and preparing the food. Have gammon about to go in the slow cooker to be sliced and have cold. Will be making masses of cupcakes today for the dessert, doing vanilla, choc, coffee and carrot. DD finishes school half day today so her and her boyfriend are helping.
House is quite clean - should be, spent all yesterday doing housework :eek:just need to hoover and wash the downstairs floors.
No idea what is for dinner tonight, it is a blank on the menu plan :rotfl:think truthfully will be a takeaway as probably will be well and truly sick of the kitchen by that point!
Hope everyone is ok, (((hugs))) wherever needed & have a great day.x

Morning all,
It really rained last night, stair rods as my Mum would say, but it is a beautiful day today.
Washing is on the line, packed lunches are made and kids are nearly ready for school.
Hester, I am really jealous about the cabbage, my seedlings are only 4 inches high, a long way off eating:)
Miecherox, good luck with the move.
It is home made pizza for tea tonight with whatever toppings I can find in the fridge and then I am going to try to make more space in the garden for vegetables, I have grown loads of seedlings and don't know where to put them.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning everyone - I got back from my work trip early yesterday afternoon and sort of melted into the sofa for a while. Even though I drove the 250 miles home at a slower pace (about 62mph) I still felt really tired afterwards. My own bed drew me to it at about 9.00p.m. too :j
Fridge is almost empty, milk is on the turn and I have not idea how OH lived whilst I was away and trying hard not to care!! :rotfl: So, could be some shopping today inbetween catching up on work emails.
For those moving, staying still, painting, baking, cooking, having birthdays, having quiet days, having tough times or having good times I hope it all goes well, gets better or doesn't get worse.0 -
